    PBS Teachers is a wonderful site with lots of resources and supplemental material for teachers to use with students. This particular link will take you directly to the STEM education resource center: Professional Development and the focus on this page is Global Climate Change Modules from PBS and NASA. However, if you look at the top of the page you can choose a specific grade band and then within that there are various content areas that can be chosen. Looks like a very interesting site with lots of resources to select from.

Arcademic Skill Builders: Online Educational Games - 0 views

    "Arcademic Skill Builders are free research-based and standards-aligned educational games! Engage and motivate students with our multiplayer and single-player games." As of August 2011 Academic Skill Builders has released 40 web-based learning games designed to help K-8 students build basic math, olanguage arts, vocabulary, and thinking skills. The games incorporate multiplayer capabilities in educational gaming. Studetns can play together in groups of 4, 8, or 12 at a time, promoting positive interaction and achievement. Educators can use the free arcade-like games with a projector screen, interactive whiteboard, or computer lab. Security safeguards ensure that no one outside the classroom can contact students who are playing the games. The games align with state standards and the Common Core Standards.

    Studyblue is a free tool that allows users to create flashcards, quizzes, and lecture notes and share them with others. Teachers can set up a "class" and give students a code, and everyone with the code can create collaborative study materials. There are mobile phone apps that the students can use to take their flashcards and notes anywhere. They can access their files offline. StudyBlue also sends helpful test and study reminders via email and text message.
