PBS Teachers is a wonderful site with lots of resources and supplemental material for teachers to use with students. This particular link will take you directly to the STEM education resource center: Professional Development and the focus on this page is Global Climate Change Modules from PBS and NASA. However, if you look at the top of the page you can choose a specific grade band and then within that there are various content areas that can be chosen. Looks like a very interesting site with lots of resources to select from.

Looks like a good site full of supplemental resources. Worth the search and a look.

Sophia is a first of its kind online social teaching and learnign platform that provides free academic content to educators. in beta testing since March, 2011, the site lets educators supplement their teaching methods with Web 2.0 tools to craete public or private learning environments

"Arcademic Skill Builders are free research-based and standards-aligned educational games! Engage and motivate students with our multiplayer and single-player games." As of August 2011 Academic Skill Builders has released 40 web-based learning games designed to help K-8 students build basic math, olanguage arts, vocabulary, and thinking skills. The games incorporate multiplayer capabilities in educational gaming. Studetns can play together in groups of 4, 8, or 12 at a time, promoting positive interaction and achievement. Educators can use the free arcade-like games with a projector screen, interactive whiteboard, or computer lab. Security safeguards ensure that no one outside the classroom can contact students who are playing the games. The games align with state standards and the Common Core Standards.

Sharing this again as there have been some additions to that that I think will be very helpful for teachers grades K-8.

Studyblue is a free tool that allows users to create flashcards, quizzes, and lecture notes and share them with others. Teachers can set up a "class" and give students a code, and everyone with the code can create collaborative study materials. There are mobile phone apps that the students can use to take their flashcards and notes anywhere. They can access their files offline. StudyBlue also sends helpful test and study reminders via email and text message.

I learned about this tool from an article in Learning & Leading with Technology, August 2011. An educator shared how her students use it.

The NASA for Educators page includes information abut NASA's various missions, as well as NASA careers, internships, and scholarships; image galleries and multimedia materials; and more. An education Materials Finder will help teachers locate NASA resources that can be used in the classroom; users can search by keyword, grade level, and subject.

Online professional development, TV programming and multimedia web content, lesson plan ideas, and ways to connect with other educators are all things featured on the PBS teachers page. The website also features news and webinars for teachers to view.

I have used this before and found very straightforward. Lots of opportunities to pull fast resources without having to dive too deep to find meaningful content.

Teacher's Domain offers free digital media from public TV broadcasters for educational use. Users can search for materials via individual state standards, Common c ore State Standards, or national standards from different organizations. Website users can create onlin eprofiles in order to share the resources they have learned for a particular lesson with others.

Similar to Worlde, but provides more power in the form of searching and manipulation

Free online software for creating and sharing movies; similar to iMovie or Windows Movie Maker.

Word Twist is an online version of the popular board game, Boggle. Word Twist comes in two versions a four by four grid and a five by five grid. The purpose of Word Twist is to identify as many words as possible using the letters in the grid.

Interesting Ways includes ideas for using Google Tools, including forms, docs, earth, searching, and maps. It also includes information on ipads in the classroom, IWB, Ipod touch, class blog posts, mobile phones, audio, video camera, QR codes, reading, creative commons, writing, internet safety gaming, wordle, twitter, voicethread, prezi, moodle search engines, wallwisher and wikis.
