Bottled Video is a great resource for absolutely free video footage of just about anything you can imagine. They pride themselves on being there for students and other video producers who think that "if only we had this shot we could do complete this project".  Bottled Video could be used by middle school or high school students to add some neat footage to video projects. It's a high quality site with high quality footage so I'd give this resource an A+. Honestly, I didn't even know sites like this existed, but I'm glad to know now. Obviously projects would be the best way to integrate this resource into the classroom. I really think it would be easy to teach the kids to use as well. All they really have to do is include a line in the credits and they're good to go. As long as the school gives them ample amounts of storage to download the videos, I don't see any problems in using this one.

Founded by David Siminoff and his wife Ellen Siminoff, Shmoop was originally conceived to generate a love of learning in kids, who were still learning with the same tools that they had used when they were in school. Every day we provide 10 million + users consistent, reliable support for their 21st century educational needs. This is currently a Channel on Youtube.com They have 524 videos on varying topics ranging from elementary to ACT and SAT prep. This is a great resource. One challenge in using this resource is of course taking time to find what you need. This might be a challenged for the overworked educator. The owners of this Channel are working on organizing the videos to be useful to its users. Math teachers, English teachers look out this resource is full of videos to be used in your classroom. This is a copyright free/royalty free website that has a nice collection of free videos for all subject areas; these resources are appropriate for K-12. They are arranged by subject area so it makes it easy to find what you are looking for. While there are numerous free videos at your disposal, you also have the option of signing up for an account for a small yearly fee. This gives you access to even more resources such as lessons, quizzes, games, and puzzles. Also, with a subscription comes the ability to create presentations using images from their collection.

8 Helpful Assistive Technology Tools for you classroom

Pixabay is a photo repository. This website is free to join, even though you have the option to donate towards the cause. It is a search engine for Shutterstock, which does cost money so be careful when you select a photo. Scroll past the first line of results. Some images are drawings or cartoons while some are photos. Pixabay has 179 photographers and their photos are free. You still have the option to donate to an individual photographer or promote their picture as well as download in several different sizes. The home screen is clean with a search bar and one large picture. I searched several times to see what quality of pictures would come up: Mozart, 21 results; Bassoon, 2 results; Baroque, 115 results. To test the system, I searched for an inappropriate word (boobie- which is really a bird). I didn't get any nudity or anything explicit, but I would still be cautious. Kids can still get around safety protocols and sometimes by accident. I would use this resource for middle school students to find images representing different time periods in music. For example, I would ask them to search for an image to describe each of the following ages: Ancient Greek, Middle Ages, Renaissance, Classical (search Mozart or Rococo), Baroque and Romantic (search Beethoven). If I have given them the search items, I can also search these items to make sure they are clean.

BusSongs is that one location (site) where you can go to find many childhood songs for your classroom. The songs can teach students about behavior, holidays, cultures, and many life skills. FCCLA students could use a song in a PowerPoint presentation to keep the students' attention or add them to a cd to use during instructional time. Some songs can be used for PTA meetings or graduation ceremonies.

The owners of this site acknowledge that some of the songs available on this site may be under a copyright protection (ie, these would be for the newer songs, not the older). School Clip Art: a free educational clipart resource. After reviewing this resource, I see it being beneficial for elementary age students and teachers. Teachers can use the clip art in their presentations, worksheets, and lesson plans. In addition, students can use the clip art to complete their assignments. The images are easy to save for both Windows and Mac users. The clipart is free, teachers and students just have to reference the website in order to use it. There are many categories to pick from and navigating the site is very easy. The only challenge I see is that the clipart would not work well for students over 5th grade because of the cartoon like nature of the images.

Edupics offers free downloadable coloring pages, pictures, and photographs.  The website images are clearly classified and easy to navigate.  There are word search and crossword puzzle image downloads, which would benefit primary and middle grades. There is even a collection of school appropriate animated videos. The color online tools available appear to target the primary age group, however, there is a variety of content appropriate for making any subject interactive. The only limitation I see to this site, in comparison to others is the limited content available.

This site is loaded with pictures, ways to create coloring pages, already created coloring pages, puzzle maker, games, and crafting ideas. This site is geared to the k-5 education setting. You can do a multitude of activities with this site and the resources available. The pictures can be used for any activity. There is no fee listed, and you do have to create a login.

This website is loaded with opportunities for teachers. It is a very well organized, searchable website that contains pictures that may be colored, photos, black and white printables, crafts. This site is Great for all grade levels pre-K through high school. For social studies teachers, it has religious categories, history, famous people... Science- animals, energy, environment and more... Language arts- emotions, fairy tales, film and television...
