369,640 Education Stock Photos, Illustrations and Royalty Free Education Images - 1 views

  •
This website has an abundance of royalty-free material available. The material resources offered range from photos, illustrations, as well as video clips. This website could best reach a wide-spread audience from K-12, and I mainly say that due to the variety that is offered. Also, there is an option to search by photographer or artist. So, if there is a particular style of art or artist that an educator may be most supportive of, or comfortable choosing work from, this will help filter out all others. The photos are arranged in a form of galleries which makes searching for photos much neater and concise, and the price range is from $2.50- $10 depending on the size. The qualities of the resources are superb. They contain great color quality, photo/video aspect, and variety.

Photos8.com | Stock Photos / Blog - 1 views

This website is of the form of a blog. The material itself is a collection of royalty-free photos. Mostly, I could see these photos reaching a mature level of students in grades 9-12. I also think that these students would have a less difficult time finding resources that they would actually be able to incorporate it into an educational setting. The photos on photos8.com are priced at $5 each. The quality of the work that can be found through categories and sub-categories are well worth the price.

Earth Science - 1 views

Earth Science World Image Bank: This site offers an image bank in order to access photos related to geology and Earth science. If you use any of the photos, the site creator asked that you give credit to "Image Courtesy United States Geological Survey" for commercial use of their photos. There is a fee to purchase the photos if you plan to use them for a commercial use. If the borrower plans to use the photo for educational purposes, the photo is royalty-free. The website defines commercial use as any use that will generate revenue related to the photos use. Because we are focusing on education, the photos will be royalty-free. The photos that are available on this site would attract sixth-grade science teachers who teach Earth Science. I think that these photos could also be used in lesson plans for secondary education within a Geology class. When you click on an image, a window will pop-up that asks you to type your email address. They will email you the photo after you specify what type of use you plan to use the photo with. There is a check box in order to state what the use of the photo intends to be. The photos available on this site are not the best quality. The photos seem to be a little bit grainy. But, I think that they are a quality that is good enough in order to show great visuals for Earth Science.

Jamendo - The #1 platform for free music. Free music downloads for private use - Royalt... - 1 views

  •
This site offers free downloads to music offered up by various artists for use in video projects both commercial and personal. If the music is to be used for commercial use, Jamendo simply reminds its users that all artists are protected under the Creative Commons License. I covered this license in my other post, however this license isn't only about attribution. The license allows the creator of the content to identify the exact usage for their material in commercial use. This allows the downloader of the music to still download the music for free, but with a blanket of customized protection for the artist. The audience I would use this site with would again be a high school broadcasting class. Many high school newscasts that are shown within the school every morning do not follow copyright laws. If the students producing these newscasts used Jamendo to download the music content for the newscast, the students would not only stay legal, but learn a very important broadcasting rule that would stick with them throughout their career. The quality of the content on Jamendo is mostly very well done. However, as with any music website, most of the music downloaded depends on user preferences. The production quality is usually very well done since these artists are attempting to push their music to the public to get their sound and style of music to the larger audiences.

Bells 'n Whistles - Everything you need to build your website, for free! - 1 views

  •
This online repository includes hundreds of copyright-free graphics that would be worthwhile for middle-high school students & educators to use to add a multitude of interesting "bells & whistles" to their word documents, multimedia presentations, or websites. In my 5th-8th grade Library Media Center, social studies students are currently completing PowerPoints presenting their research about assigned Middle Eastern countries. I can foresee allowing students who have finished adding all assigned subject content to their slides, use this site to add "spinning globe" bullets, horizontal rule section dividers in the shape of "International Flags" or "Palm Trees," and "Textured Sand" backgrounds. All of the graphics were easy to navigate to from a large table on the index page and everything I experimented with downloaded and inserted easily, the quality of the images was excellent, and many of the animations would be relevant for school assignments. In the "Terms of Use" section, the creators advertise that, "Bellsnwhistles.com graphics are free for your use and if you use them we ask that you PLEASE DOWNLOAD what you need…Do Not link to our graphics." I did not encounter anything on the site that required royalty fees or additional software to load before gaining access. The only problem educators might want to mention to students before using is to make sure they insert only school-appropriate graphics…while nothing on the site was unsuitable for student-viewing, there was a "Foaming Beer Mug" divider and "Dripping Blood" Halloween images that students would need to avoid downloading into projects.

They are arranged by subject area so it makes it easy to find what you are looking for. While there are numerous free videos at your disposal, you also have the option of signing up for an account for a small yearly fee. This gives you access to even more resources such as lessons, quizzes, games, and puzzles. Also, with a subscription comes the ability to create presentations using images from their collection.

Download Free Stock Footage | Free Stock Video and HD video clips - Videvo.net - 0 views

  •
This site provides free, stock video footage for users to download for commercial or personal use. This website though offers a different kind of stock video as well, motion graphics. Videvo offers a large library of basic motion graphics that are fantastic small additions or final edits to a video project. This site provides stock motion graphics that on the surface, seem very simple, yet are very complicated to build without knowledge of a program such as After Effects or Motion. The best audience for this site would be a high school broadcasting or a graphics class in which some high schools offer with basic skills of the programs previously mentioned. The quality of the video offered on Videvo is for the most part extremely well done. After some research on the site itself, some of the motion graphics do not always have great color detail or motion detail as you would expect in basic motion graphics. Those critiques though should not take away from the great graphics and stock video that is in fact offered on this site. Finally, although the footage and graphics are royalty-free, the website does require that the user attribute the Creative Commons License 3.0 to the author of the content where it is required. Basically, this means that not all of the content on this site requires any attribution whatsoever, but some do ask that users attribute through the Creative Commons License.

Unpround is a very unique site that offers free images. There is not a designated category assignment, however all photos are grouped by color. The site could be used for any grade level and photos can be applied to any subject.  The only difficulty I would see in using this site would be the unusual organization.  We are used to category names and subject groupings.  There is a search box available, so the site user could simply enter a search term.

Royalty Free Video Clips & Royalty Free Footage | BBC Motion - 0 views

  •
This site offers a variety of different video clips. Some clips are free and some have to be purchased before downloading. Many of the highlighted clips included animals, family life, transportation, and other Kindergarten Social Studies content. There is material that would work with all grade levels and subject areas, but Social Studies was the first idea that popped into my head. There are a lot of news clips and weather clips as well. There are a lot of cool clips that show tornadoes in actions. BBC Motion Gallery is connected to BBC news, so you are able to access clips and news from around the world.

PD Photo is a website that has a large collection of photos that are free and available for use under the public domain. There looks to hundreds of photos that fall under a variety of categories. Many photos are available for geography use and would be beneficial in a social studies classroom; there are also many images that can be used in a science classroom, like the Macros or Plants category. The images on this site are not limited to these two content areas as there are plenty of ways students and teachers can use these photos in an educational setting, for any and all grade levels.

Home - Purple Planet Royalty Free Music - 2 views

This is a great resource for instrumental jams. I have used a few for animoto when I didn't want any lyrics, but wanted a certain beat or mood to go along with the images. It would be great for students making movies as well as the music is categorized i.e. blues, horror, dramatic, tense... and it allows a full preview before downloading along with a fairly large collection of free music.
