This site has copyright free and royalty free sound bites. They are available for anyone to use under the Creative Commons licenses. It has a pretty good search engine. I searched for a volcanic eruption sound that I might use in my earth science classes and found several. They are easy to download, and it seems to be a pretty high quality site for sounds. All you have to do is register with the site. It does not cost anything.

These sounds are available through 3 different types of licenses. There is the Zero level of license that does not require any special restrictions and you can do whatever you want with the sound. There is the Attribution license where you must give credit to the author. The third license is Noncommercial. You have to give credit and you may not earn money off of the sound unless you receive special permission from the creator of the sound.

I think this could be used by any teacher in education to add some pizzazz to their PowerPoint presentations or classrooms. It is also easy enough for students to use for theirs.
