Virtual Nerd is developing a nicely organized site. The videos are primarily symbolic in nature but are thorough, organized, and do a nice job of modeling notes to accompany the explanations. 

Multimedia online note taking tool. Students can capture screen images, make audio recordings for notes, or write text notes to accompany drawings. These different media can then be organized into videos!  I envision it being similar to Evernote with more interaction capabilities and with the great addition of being able to create videos of the information gathered. I like this tool!

Magma provides video aggregation capabilities from any source on the net.

Simple article, but very nice examples of podcasting routines that would add value to classroom instruction.  Podcasting takes some time to develop but offer students opportunities to listen to materials multiple times, when they want/need to hear it again.

Creating slideshows can be an excellent way for students to summarize their learning, share their what they've learned, and to share their ideas. If you have students that create slideshows that you or they think should be shared with a wider audience than that of their immediate peers in the classroom, the web offers many ways to do that. The following are ten free ways for students to publish their slideshows to the web.

Bloom's Taxonomy brought to life via Flash. An interesting look at Blooms from the perspective of technology. 

An interest group that shares valuable tools/conversations/ideas for developing mathematical understanding naturally (not just in the classroom). Maria Droujkova is one of the driving forces behind the group, and she's brilliant and dedicated to the cause. 

Great example of a class online assignment around a book study. Students at this high school created most of this content. It is student created and that's what I like most about it.

Continuing discussion of two issues that are at the forefront of our work. 

Nice set of applets that let students explore fraction understanding from multiple perspectives and models. I love that they use a variety of models for fractional development, including bars (multiple versions), sets, and linear. From the site:  "Why Fractions? Fractions are one of the earliest stumbling blocks for students in math. Our goal is building conceptual understanding in fractions as a basis for comprehension in all later topics."

Great resource for developing a protocol for looking at student work with your PLC, staff, department. Offers not only protocols, but strategies for introducing the idea to your group, supporting the activity long-term to meet the needs of your staff/PLC. 

Perhaps the easiest Wiki I've ever scene. Anyone, and I mean anyone, can now create a wiki for use with their students or to share information with colleagues. I wonder what their business model is and how long they will be able to sustain this approach, but until then I plan on using orb.com with teachers as a great entry point tool.
