Kidblog.org is designed for elementary and middle school teachers who want to provide each student their own, unique blog. It's SAFE, simple, and free (at least at this time). You can set up your students without student email addresses!

Data visualizations for a changing world ​The Google Public Data Explorer makes large datasets easy to explore, visualize and communicate. As the charts and maps animate over time, the changes in the world become easier to understand. You don't have to be a data expert to navigate between different views, make your own comparisons, and share your findings.

Digital storytelling continues to evolve and grow, yet another post on some really interesting tools that you can use to create digital stories. 

As usual the NY  Times gets it right! Great tool for creating visualizations of data. The data is from the Times articles so it's a wonderful opportunity to have students read and then create compelling visualizations of data. 

Information graphics, visual representations of data known as infographics, keep the web going these days. Web users, with their diminishing attention spans, are inexorably drawn to these shiny, brightly coloured messages with small, relevant, clearly-displayed nuggets of information. They're straight to the point, usually factually interesting and often give you a wake-up call as to what those statistics really mean.

ZoomIt is screen zoom and annotation tool for technical presentations that include application demonstrations. ZoomIt runs unobtrusively in the tray and activates with customizable hotkeys to zoom in on an area of the screen, move around while zoomed, and draw on the zoomed image.

Plus is an internet magazine which aims to introduce readers to the beauty and the practical applications of mathematics.  Interesting topics and free for now. Take advantage of the short topics to have students reading in mathematics and even some science topics!

Great resource for STEM topics that are up to date, short, contain data and information. Highly suggested for mathematics and science teachers.

or the uninitiated Wordle is essentially a word cloud generator that creates word clouds from text you either manually enter or draw from websites, news feeds or utilise tags from a del.icio.us account to create a visually appealing word cloud which you can customise and stylize to suit your needs. recently led a Google Docs session at Whittier Christian High School and was asked to provide a quick demo video illustrating the way I used formulas (and in particular the IF formula) to grade a quiz made using a Google Form. Apparently my explanation plays well face-to-face but considerably less well from memory. ;) For this video I cut right to the chase and did my best to explain the IF formula for beginners… while keeping under a 5 minute time limit. I hope it's helpful for you and your colleagues and I hope you'll let me know what you think.

Magnoto is a little like glogster. It's a nice little project tool. It is in beta and may not be stable enough for mass use, but it is pretty user friendly and can allow 5 people to work together on the same project. Each person can have their own page or can work together to create one page.
