Anything from NASA will be slick. I'm a little disappointed in the videos about proportion. A 2 minute video and the mathematics is washed over in 13 seconds, and on top of that it's all procedural in nature (cross-multiply) with no explanation as to why it works. Other resources look more promising to me, but hope NASA looks into doing a better job of incorporating more conceptual development/understanding/explanation.

NASA generated website with pictures, podcasts, blog posts of current happenings around the world. I explored one example, the recent Tsunami. Great pictures of the island and of showing the wave in the ocean! Also, great story accompanying the pics. I, also, loved the interactive global map with the geolocated pictures. Although I haven't listened to the Science for the Hungry World podcast, I subscribe to several NASA podcasts and think they are great for teaching!

A service of Internet Archive ( www.archive.org ) to offer public access to NASA's images, videos and audio collections. Constantly growing with the addition of current media from NASA as well as newly digitized media from the archives of the NASA Centers.

"NASA Images provides photos and video related to space exploration, aeronautics, and astronomy. Topics include the universe, solar system, earth, and astronauts. A space flight interactive timeline shows images and video from the 1959 launch of Explorer 1, the first spacecraft successfully launched by the U.S., to the Mars Rovers and International Space Station. As always NASA does a great job incorporating multimedia into the experience. Just share the site with teachers and let them pick their application.

I just spent the day working with teachers at WCHS and we talked about adding the NASA podcast to a wiki for students to respond to during each quarter and I would add this kind of site as a useful resource that would let a student make connections between different topics/concepts they have been studying and "real life" science. I don't think you would ever know exactly what you would get here, which is why I like it. Let the students really work and explore on their own to make connections. As a teacher, let the students create a rubric with you, model an example for them and one with them, and then put the idea out there as a long term project that you touch base on on occasion. Thoughts/responses?
