    On October 22, 1986, lawmakers from both parties gathered on the South Lawn of the White House and applauded as President Ronald Reagan signed into law the most comprehensive revision of the federal tax code in a half century. When I first started reading this sentence I thought it was going to be talking about another reform. The immigration reform. This was a huge reform as well and this affected everyone. So why not start with the immigration reform instead of the tax reform?

      This is great and amazing. During this time racism, segreation, and overall inequality of colored people waqs still very present. Yet the NAACP originated evenb before the african american civil rights movement and to this day is now still exisstent.

    Once again here is proof that we as humans are much more emotional than logical. Even in the courtroom where everything should be decided based completely on the logical aspect this doesn't happen. Lawyers spend years in law school trying to figure out the correct ways to make the most logically correct arguments but in a way it might be that they are wasting their time. We are much more emotional than logically. Maybe this will change the curriculum at law schools around the nation sometime soon.

      Yes, I do believe this would be a great idea. An impossible idea however. Too many things change from one moment to the next to know the exact numbers of everything. Not only thta but in a way too much information becomes useless. It is always important to account for everyone, but not too this extent. Too much time would go into getting exact numbers instead of actually fixing things and doing the thinsg that need to be done.

      I think this great, that MAyor Bloomberg not only fought for teh program but put his money int0o it. If we were to get this out of all politicians we would have a lot better results. Politicians earn great incomes, so why not give back to the people that have put you in that privaledged position.

    I think this analogy of Jay-Z and The Game can be applied not only to the United States of America but to Barack Obama. As the first African American president Barack Obama has had to endure so much more disrespect than past presidents. Ex. Governor Brewer pointing her finger in his face, people questioning his religion, and Donald Trump and many other asking him to show his birth certificate to prove that he really is American? this is crazy, no other president has ever had to go through so much trash talking, yet Obama has handled with poise by not responding to the attacks and that is one of the reason why he is in his second term.

    After reading this I believe that almost every policy can be passed as long as it is presented to the correct group. In order to be presented to the correct group however the people must be placed in the more favorable group. If we place drug users in the dependents group we are more likely to pass a law that legalizes marijuana instead of if we tried to do teh same but we had them on the deviants group.

    Only certain states matter to super pacs and special interest groups. I can see why they matter and why so much money goes into them. These states are the states that basically determine the winner. This is in the short term, however if these groups really want to see a change they should start thinking long term. If little by little the states that are continuously won by a party, we contested slowly but steadily by the opposition over a period of time these states would be states that might be won by the opposition, but only after a while.

    I think that we are all afraid of terrorism and the things around us. However we have to realize that no matter how hard we try there will always be danger around us. There will always be things that are out of our control. This is exactly why i found the ending to this TED Talk so important, it sums up all the main points by saying there will always be danger, however its up to us to develop immunity.

      Yes the parties are more unified, but with their own group. Government cannot be successful like this. Yes each party must look over its own interest, but at the same time they must also look over the good of everyone as a whole, even if it means comprimising.

    While the information being presented is important, sometimes the way information is presented is more important. Not only that but when information is presented it is always important to remember who you are trying to present the information to. If your message is intended for someone with conservative thinking, you want to be careful of not presenting your information in a way that is too extreme.

    Yes, it is true, we are very bad at predicting statistics and that is why we believe things that aren't true and also don't want to believe things that are true. I think there is another reason to this as well. The reason why we believe lies is because when we want them to be true.. The reason why we don't want to believe the truth is because we are in denial and don't want to believe the truth.

    Economic growth drives the growth of a country. However "money is not important" were the words of Rosling. When we all think of economic growth we all immediately begin thinking about money. But, this really isn't the key for a country to be successful. Money is needed but money is not everything. Economic growth is what will allow a country to grow, not money.
