I think that money as a reward is personally a good thing. People should get rewarded if they do well in their job. It makes no sense how money as a reword should hurt motivation. You would think that if someone said who ever works the hardest and makes the most sales this quarter will get a 5,000 dollar bonus, then everyone would work hard to try to get that money. It seems to me then most of the time it would hurt motivation would be when someone does not win the bonus then they are just envious and sore losers.

Nobody will ever be treated equally if elected officials if they were assuring their self interests. Politicians are corrupt and if they are looking out for their self interests then they are purely looking for votes or money so they will always push some of the populations aside. If they get a law pass Congress, like affirmative action, to put people ahead then you are not treating everyone equally. The equal way would be to just have people work for what they want. By just giving people an advantage goes against the American Dream to work hard and make a good living.

Hey everybody, so here are some questions that I have for you on the assigned readings

1. In the first article, author Steven Pinker illustrates that as a human race we have become more and more less likely to be as violent as the previous generations. My question for you is, do you think that the human race will continue to reduce in violence or do you think that we could backtrack and become the savages we once were? Provide examples as why you agree with either one.

2. In the second article, it describes the how people rise to power. Do you think that politicians obtain power as a way to achieve greatness for themselves or greatness for the polis? Are there other factors that come into play when someone is trying to win this power?

I think politicians use patternicity when they are giving speeches at different events. For example, a politician goes to a church and gives a speech he will probably use a story of how religion affected his life or how it affected someone else. Or a politician goes to a laboratory and gives a speech on science. So it depends how a politician will use patternicity but ultimately they will use it.
