Some great resources and rationales for using web 2.0 environments in K-20 learning environments by Jim Klein, IST director for Saugus Union School District
"This website has a collection of short, simple and fun video clips to correctly define and provide examples of around 800 words in context. The videos are entirely appropriate for middle and high school students. The students are encouraged to play with words, create their own vocabulary videos and upload their work to the website. Teachers may direct activities and assign word projects to the students. The Study Room allows personalized list creation and sharing. Visitors can also sign up to receive a word of the day in the email."
This is an amazing illustration of Sir Kenneth Robinson's presentation on schooling in the 21st century. It's fascinating to watch an illustrator create a visual map of Robinson's ideas as they are spoken. The content of the presentation is enormously important to any educator struggling to change the system. It's even more important to those who've been subdued and mislead by old ideas into thinking they can't learn or create.

Stone is the program advisor and lead instructor for the online
graduate certificate program in instructional design at the
University of Wisconsin-Stout
[http://www.uwstout.edu/soe/profdev/instructionaldesigncert.cfm] (one
of two grad certificates UW-Stout offers; the other is in eLearning).
While you can use the certificate courses at UW-Stout for the
school’s Master’s in Education, there is no master’s
specifically in instructional design.
UW-Stout
developed only certificate programs in the field because so many of
its students already hold advanced degrees, says Stone.
Coursework
at UW-Stout includes understanding learning and design theories,
models, and instructional strategies, as well as hands-on work
developing computer-based training pieces. The work students do is
customized to their current job or career interests, says Stone
Before
beginning your school quest, you need to figure out your goals, says
Harris.
“You
really have to develop your own personal rubric: ‘What is it I am
looking to do?’” he says. “There is no Good Housekeeping book
where you can look up a recipe to find your ideal school; you have to
determine this yourself, based on research and an honest assessment
of your professional objectives."
Harris
says there is no credible ranking for online master’s or
certificate programs in instructional design, so you need to do your
research to find the best program that fits your goals.
verall,
says Harris, what’s most important in picking where you go and what
you study is “what you want for yourself as a professional. That’s
going to be the most important criteria you have to come up with in
deciding whether a program is a good choice for you.”
"If we can safely assume that the different forms of education have always been following the common interests of students on global level, then it's only natural to expect cyberculture to dominate over today's educational trends."

Ranked 1st in India, 3rd in Asia and 17th in the world in FIDE rankings, Vantika Agrawal last year became a gold medal winner in the Chess Olympiad in which India and Russia were the joint winners.
Woman International Master at the age of 14, and gold medal winner at the age of 17, is a really astonishing thing to achieve at this young age, but this is how you will describe her incredible chess journey. From her very fast rise in the ratings to her consistent hard work as well as dedication, she is definitely on the fast road to being a great chess player.
This young girl has achieved a lot in this short time as her achievements are speaking for themselves and also she has been even awarded by Hon'ble Former President of India Shri Pranab Mukherjee as well as Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji. Her crowning glory was the part of the Indian team for winning Olympiad gold for the first time ever.
Vantika Agrawal's Successful Journey of Chess
Her journey of chess starts at a very early age as she won the gold medal in U-9 girls, Asian Schools Chess, 2011, Delhi. From there she has been winning one competition after the other.
Participating in Olympiad, Vantika was lucky to get a place on the Indian team. Her strategy proceeding into the competition was to just give her greatest performance and contribute as much as she could to the team. She did that pretty well by getting 3.5/4 in the league stage, where India ended first, taking down a robust Chinese squad.
As the Indian squad started into the playoffs, Vantika remained calm as well as confident. And when there was a tie in the final, all the players were happy and for Vantika it was really a dream come true. Even though it was online, but it was her first Olympiad. She even says that playing with her team has made her even more motivated.
