"Text2Phonetics is a very handy site if you like to use phonemic script with your students. It can take a lot of the hard work out of transcribing text to phonetic symbols. You just paste in a short piece of text, click a button, and it does it for you."
Tajweed Rules
It is absolutely important to learn Tajweed rules, as the Islamic religion has expanded within a few decades of its starting to maximum parts of the globe. The people that live in this world have got different religions and languages. Even the alphabets of all these languages are quite different from each other. For Muslims, Al Qur'an will be there for rest of their lives and it will last up to the Judgment day. During the spread of Islam, both the Arab and non-Arab countries were being mixed together, but they had way too much differences in the case of languages and accents. There are still many Middle Eastern countries where Muslim people can't read the Holy Qur'an according to the rules of Tajweed.
learning Tajweed Rules
There was a time when it was feared that the actual spoken words of our Prophets were not being preserved due to unavailability of Tajweed rules. There was a risk of losing the real pronunciation of reading Al Qur'an. Therefore, it was realized that Tajweed rules had to be managed in such a way that both the Arabs and non-Arabs would be able to preserve the exact words, accent, sounds, and its real meaning. Besides, it is extremely necessary to learn and exercise the rules of Tajweed while reading and reciting the Holy Qur'an.

Fantastic web app to use for ESL classes because it is so much more than a traditional dictionary...
"What is Wordnik?
Wordnik wants to be a place for all the words, and everything known about them.
Traditional dictionaries make you wait until they've found what they consider to be "enough" information about a word before they will show it to you. Wordnik knows you don't want to wait-if you're interested in a word, we're interested too!
Our goal is to show you as much information as possible, just as fast as we can find it, for every word in English, and to give you a place where you can make your own opinions about words known.
By "information," we don't just mean traditional definitions (although we have plenty of those)! This information could be:
* An example sentence-even if we've only found one sentence for a word, we'll show it to you. (And we'll show you where the sentence came from, too!
* Related words: not just synonyms and antonyms, but words that are used in the same contexts. (For instance, cheeseburger, milkshake, and doughnut are not synonyms, but they show up in the same kinds of sentences.)
* Images tagged by our friends at Flickr: want to know what a "pout" looks like? We'll show you.
* Statistics: how rare is "tintinnabulation"? Well, we think you'll see it only about once a year. "Smile"? You might see that word many times, every day.
* An audio pronunciation-and you can record your own!
* Something YOU tell us! Use the "Contribute" links to tell us something-anything-about a word.
This site is designed especially with the young learner in mind with its age-appropriate content and emphasis on visual and auditory learning.
Glossopedia is the kind of site that you can leave open for students to explore and find a fast fact of the day, find their favorite image, or video

This site is simple and visually pleasing. The font size is great for young learners. Words are hyperlinked to an audio pronunciation that is a real person, speaking really slowly at first then more quickly, and finally the written meaning of the word. Images and photos have a print button prominently displayed.
The thing that worries most non-specialists teaching language is pronouncing words correctly from a book. This is where Forvo is is priceless. Native speaker users and the site itself have uploaded audio clips of word for us non native speakers to copy. The site has 250+ languages uploaded. I tested the Mandarin section, as I understand that, and it was faultless. An amazing resource.

A superb app for any one looking at learning basic Mandarin Chinese. Play the game to listen and see the language. There are many different types of questions, but most are multiple choice or click and drag from a selection of choices. Questions start out easy and there is support and 'hint' buttons to help you. You can download each lesson as you reach it, or download everything if you plan to use it offline. All the language you have met is stored in a word bank and use your microphone to compare your pronunciation to the recordings.
