This is a wonderful Video conferencing site which works across many types of devices. There is no sign up or login required. Just start a room and share the link to invite afters. You can have five video participates at once. You can watch videos together from YouTube and other sites. There is a collaborative notepad, text chat, file sharing and you can even share your screen with other 'room mates.' You can sign in for free to customise rooms and schedule sessions. Upload images, chat and embed the whiteboard on your site. Your whiteboards are automatically saved for you to return to later. In an adaption of Ch. 1 from one of his books, Larry  Ferlazzo focused on intrinsic motivation, and suggested, for example,"People are more motivated and confident when they feel they have more control over their environment. Inviting students to have a voice in classroom decisions-where they sit, what day a test takes place, in what order units are studied, or even where a plant should be placed in the classroom-can help them develop that greater sense of control" (Creating Opportunities for Students to Help Make Decisions, para. 1).

"This wiki is intended to be a clearinghouse of applications, lessons and experiences using the iPad in the classroom. The intention is that all apps listed have been tested and recommended by teachers using them. The Apps pages are generally created using google docs spreadsheets, feel free to update the wiki or the spreadsheets. (A link is provided on each page for the spreadsheets... at least the ones I've started working on...) At this point, as a high school science teacher, most of the apps I've recommended and investigated are geared to this level. Some can be used at any level. I invite you to add pages dedicated to your areas of interest and expertise if they are not already listed here. I would love to see a section on Literature and Language and Elementary Skills added to the wiki along with additions to any of the currently developed spreadsheets. Now, you can send a special link to your friends so that they can easily add their own witty comments to your videos.
