Essential Pressure Washer Nozzles Tips: A Comprehensive Guide - 0 views

  •
The nozzles of pressure washers are essential in controlling the strength and the pattern sprays that determine the efficiency of your cleaning chores. Many nozzles are available; each has a distinct function, ranging from gentle cleaning to heavy-duty dirt removal. The five most commonly used pressure washer nozzles tips are colored based on the angle of spray, which is Red (0deg) for focused, precise blasts, yellow (15deg) to strip tough dirt and dirt, green (25deg) for general cleaning, and white (40deg) for more delicate surfaces as well as black (65deg) to apply soap. Choosing the correct nozzle will dramatically improve your cleaning efficiency and prevent damage to surfaces. For instance, the 0deg nozzle provides the highest pressure but must be used cautiously, while the 40deg tip offers the broadest, softer spray suitable for windows or vehicles. To enhance the capabilities of your pressure washer, Turbo, and rotating nozzles offer additional cleaning power by combining high pressure and rotational action, which is perfect for tough debris. Selecting the right tip for your pressure washer ensures that you can match the strength of the spray to the surface, making each cleaning task more secure and effective.

Final College-Readiness Definition Guides Test Consortium - Curriculum Matters - Educat... - 0 views

  • PARCC's policy will be that students earn the "college readiness" determination by performing at level 4 on a 5-level test
  • Reaching that level on the language arts part of the exam will mean that students have "demonstrated the academic knowledge, skills, and practices necessary" to skip remedial classes and go directly into entry-level, credit-bearing courses in "college English composition, literature, and technical courses requiring college-level reading and writing."
  • college-readiness scores on the test will be set in such a way that students who score at that level—level 4—will have a 75 percent chance of earning a grade of C or better in those college courses.

  • Scoring at level 5 on the test will reflect a "distinguished command" of the subject, and level 4 will reflect a "strong" command. Level 3 shows a "moderate" command, level 2 a "partial" command, and level 1 a "minimal" command.

Bush, Obama focus on standardized testing leads to 'opt-out' parent movement - The Wash... - 0 views

  • “Over the last couple of years, they’ve turned this one test into the all and everything,”
  • They argue that the exams cause stress for young children, narrow classroom curricula, and, in the worst scenarios, have led to cheating because of the stakes involved — teacher compensation and job security.
  • In some states, as much as half of a teacher’s job evaluation is now determined by student scores on standardized tests.

Views: Teaching With Blogs - Inside Higher Ed - 0 views

  • Most of the students were quite awkward in their initial blogging. Good students all, the class was a seminar on "Designing for Effective Change" for the Honors Program, but lacking experience in this sort of approach to instruction, the students wrote to their conception of what I wanted to hear from them. I can’t imagine a more constipated mindset for producing interesting prose. For this class there was a need for them to unlearn much of their approach which had been finely tuned and was quite successful in their other classes. They needed to take more responsibility for their choices. While I gave them a prompt each week on which to write, I also gave them the freedom to choose their own topic so long as they could create a tie to the course themes. Upon reading much of the early writing, I admonished many of them to "please themselves" in the writing. I informed them that they could not possibly please other readers if they didn’t first please themselves. It was a message they were not used to hearing.
  • The commenting, more than any other activity the instructor engages in, demonstrates the instructor’s commitment to the course and to the students. In turn the students, learning to appreciate the value of the comments, start to push themselves in the writing
  • Is open blogging this way consistent with FERPA? As best as I’ve been able to determine, it is as long as students “opt in

Weblogg-ed » Personalizing Education for Teachers, Too - 0 views

  • The key to this transformation is not to standardize education but to personalize it, to build achievement on discovering the individual talents of the each child, to put students in an environment where they want to learn and where they can naturally discover their true passions (238). The curriculum should be personalized. Learning happens in the  minds and souls of individuals–not in the databases of multiple-choice tests (248).

  • Finally, he came to the conclusion that the only way to do it was to create an individualized learning experience for each teacher, to take them where they are and mentor them, individually, to a different place. He’s in the process of surveying each teacher to determine what technologies they currently use, what their comfort levels are, and what they are most passionate about. Then, using those results, he and one other tech educator at the school are going to start going one by one, talking about change, looking at tools, making connections, and shifting the pedagogy.
  • Great teachers have always understood that their real role is not to teach subjects but to teach students (249).
  • Teachers are learners. If they’re not, they shouldn’t be teachers.

Online Learning: Trends, Models And Dynamics In Our Education Future - Part 1 - Robin G... - 0 views

  • In the case of informal learning, however, the structure is much looser. People pursue their own objectives in their own way, while at the same time initiating and sustaining an ongoing dialogue with others pursuing similar objectives. Learning and discussion is not structured, but rather, is determined by the needs and interests of the participants. There is no leader; each person participates as they deem appropriate. There are no boundaries; people drift into and out of the conversation as their knowledge and interests change.

The process, simply, is that learners will be presented with learning resources according to their interests, aptitudes, educational levels, and other factors (including employer factor and social factors) while they are in the process of working at their job, engaging in a hobby, or playing a game.

When NOT to Use Social Media - ReadWriteWeb - 0 views

  • You fight with your employees: In some businesses, management and employees are constantly at odds. (An example was given of a unionized workforce where management-labor strife was common). This is also not the type of company that should encourage employees to communicate directly with customers via social media. Management skepticism: If management doesn't believe in social media, then employees who have been told for years that public communication needs to be filtered will be hesitant to try out a new medium which requires them to speak openly. In this scenario, management needs to encourage and reward participation to make social media work. If they don't, it will fail. Strategic Vacuum: Don't do social media just to do social media. If a company doesn't know what they're trying to accomplish, then there will be nothing to measure and no way to determine success. Just as with any other initiative a company takes on, there needs to be an objective...and that objective shouldn't be to distribute a press release.
  • only 2% of businesses are using Twitter as a marketing tool. Only 2% - can you believe that?
  •
Educators would be wise to examine if these are some of the reasons email, admin blogging and other forms of social media are failing in the public school systems.
