Van Jones: Conservatives Will Kill Children for Jobs | Vision to America - 0 views

Lets remember, Van Jones is an admitted Communist. Throw grandma off the cliff? Democrat hyperboyle is over the top! How stupid would one need to be to fall for this crap? Actually it is the Democrats who not only want to kill children but have killed millions through their practice of Abortion. People in glass houses shouldn't throw stones. Think before you speak!

Sarah Reiter is Providence Place's Adoption Outreach Coordinator. Sarah ReiterWhen she talks about her job, her brown eyes shine and her shoulder-length hair swings as she emphasizes a point she's making. It's inevitable. The school you once called home will call you up after you've hung your cap and gown, and ask for donations. For those postgraduates who feel financially stable enough to give, it is a warm call to action. But for the growing number of postgraduates who feel the burden of student loans and tough job markets, it is a guilt-ridden reminder that the comforts of college are over. You are now an alumna, however aimless or surefooted, and you have a responsibility to guide younger classes through the same transition. But without a hefty paycheck, how can you give back?

Happiness - Marilyn Taplin - 0 views

  •
Happy are the people who choose God. But if you choose Satan and your god is Satan there is no happiness. To be happy one must depart from evil and return to God. "Happy is the man that feareth always" (Proverbs 28:14). This can be said; happy is the person who always hates evil-one who never commits evil. Happiness is a byproduct of hating evil and departing from evil. "Happy is the man whom God correcteth: therefore despise not thou the chastening of the Almighty" (Job 5:17). Here we are reminded that God only corrects us for our own good. Correction from God is God being good to us. Repentance and correction from God is for our own happiness and the happiness of our children and their children.

Living Loved - Quotes & Humor - 0 views

  • Generally, what I find is that the ordinary people who come to church are basically running their lives on their own, utilizing 'the arm of the flesh' - their natural abilities - to negotiate their way," he says. "They believe there is a God and they need to check in with him. But they don't have any sense that he is an active agent in their lives. As a result, they don't become disciples of Jesus.
  • We must never forget that God's speaking to us, however we experience it in our initial encounter, is intended to develop into a intelligent, freely cooperative relationship between mature people who love each other with the richness of genuine agape love. We must therefore make it our primary goal not just to hear the voice of God but to be mature people in a loving relationship with him.
  • Only broken people are truly honest. By nature you and I are full of erroneous judgments... It is only after God has shaken our natural foundation to pieces... only when all our illusions are raised and we have lost the remainder of our inborn self-confidence... only when we see we have misjudgment concerning ourselves... then do we begin to be honorable. Revelation has its price.

  • What if the guy who sold everything he had to buy the incomparable pearl, was God and you were the incomparable pearl? What if? • We humans are notorious for taking something Scripture describes as a reality, giving a term to it and thinking we've replicated the reality. Paul talked about the church that gathered in various homes, but he never called it 'house church'. Houses were just where they ended up in their life together. Jesus was the focus, not the location.

  • When religion replaces the actual experience of the living Jesus, when we lose the authority of personal knowing and rely on the authority of books, institutions, and leaders, when we let religion interpose between us and the primary experience of Jesus as the Christ, we lose the very reality that religion itself describes as ultimate.
  • "Unless a definite step is demanded, the call vanishes into thin air, and if people imagine that they can follow Jesus without taking this step, they are deluding themselves like fanatics... Although Peter cannot achieve his own conversion, he can leave his nets." - Dietrich Bonhoeffer
  • "Brothers and sisters, break free from whatever ruts you have settled into! Whoever does not want to be set free - well, suit yourself, but don't say you are living in Christ's spirit. You can continue in the old ways and be a part of Christianity, but not of God's kingdom. You can live in Christianity but not in Christ; the gulf between the two is great."

We can't understand how God decides the day of our death. We don't know when our own finish line will come. But we should all live in such a way that when we come to the finish line of our life there will be no unfinished business, no works our Father assigned to us that we've left undone.

Sometimes God chooses to let us walk through the storm so that we can learn that He will never leave us or let a situation be more than we can handle with His help. And sometimes He just plain steps in and fixes everything better than you could possibly have dreamed. Sometimes it happens in a moment, sometimes after years of patient waiting. We'll never see it if we don't let Him work, if we don't step back in faith and let God be God.

Why Does God Allow Suffering? - 1 views

  • The questions readily rise to mind and on the surface seem reasonable: yet a candid look at them shows that they carry certain implications. They imply that suffering in human life is inconsistent either with the power or with the love of God: that as a God of love either He has not the power to prevent the suffering, or if He has the power then He has not the will, and is not a God of love. It is assumed that the prevention of suffering as it now affects the apparently innocent is something we should expect from a God of love who is also Almighty. Are these assumptions justified?
  • Underlying all the loose thinking on the subject which has been surveyed so far is one basic assumption: it is that suffering is evil in itself.
  • suffering is not evil in itself, but a symptom of a deeper evil. The Scriptures portray suffering as a consequence of sin: not necessarily the sin of the individual who suffers, but sin in the history of man and in human society.
  • ...1 more annotation...
  • The larger problem of suffering remains, and the only answer to be extracted from the Book of Job is that man cannot question the majesty and wisdom of God: He is the Creator and Sustainer of all life, and His works are beyond man's knowledge.
