You’ll hear people talking about the Twitter “stream”.  This is derived from a beautiful metaphor in which the tweets people send out can be considered drops of water in a stream.  You’re standing on the bank, enjoying the stream as it passes, but you can’t worry about enjoyoing every drop of water that’s there.

The app, to be called Twitter Music, could be released on iOS by the end of this month, according to a person familiar with the matter. Twitter Music suggests artists and songs to listen to based on a variety of signals, and is personalized based on which accounts a user follows on Twitter. Songs are streamed to the app via SoundCloud. Twitter Music, which is set to arrive in the wake of key competitor Facebook overhauling the music section of its News Feed, shows Twitter taking new steps into becoming a full-fledged media company. The app acknowledges the key role music has played in drawing new users to the service -- particularly younger, mainstream users. Pop stars have some of Twitter's most popular accounts, with followings in the tens of millions. The TwitterMusic account has 2.3 million followers -- not a bad perch from which to launch an eponymous app

As MOOCs cast their eye to the developing world, very minor tweaks matter a great deal, such as the ability to allow students to download, rather than only stream course videos. But even more major ones are coming, including edX’s plans to start open-sourcing its platform in the next few months, which could allow even more universities to post online courses, and software programmers around the world to experiment with customized interfaces.

“We need to make sure we are making tools that make it easy to create new content, so it’s not only someone at MIT or Stanford who creates.” Relevance, as he notes, is one of the biggest motivators for students.

Google is preparing to roll out a paid subscription service for some of the specialist video channels on YouTube.

The subscription service is expected to be rolled out soon, meaning it could be launched as early as this week.

Apple’s iOS version of Safari still won’t support Flash, this is a change in how Flash content is delivered to iOS devices. Adobe’s Flash Media Server 4.5 will detect what type of device is attempting to view the content and will stream Flash videos in a format that is supported by iOS. As of right now only Flash videos are supported in Flash Media Server 4.5

There have been attempts in the past to convert Flash into HTML5 in hopes to bringing Flash to iOS, but none of those attempts have brought Flash to Safari
