Sixth-graders use blogs to express themselves as they learn how to use the technology of blogs and have an authentic audience of others in the class. Students begin with a "paper blog" with comments/responses on Post-it notes. As students finish a book, they talk about the characters and then write about them on the blog, using a specific assignment by he teacher. Includes Common Core standards and suggestions of ways to scaffold the technology for success.

A tools to record responses to a primary source, which might be video, photo, audio, etc., as well as paper. A nice guide for students as well as scholars.

The tools are Snapguide, to create video with captions, Meograph, a timeline creator, and Thinglink which creates interactive images. These tools allow for creativity and self-expression, but also encourage students to go deeper into a subject or theme.

Great tool to slow down, edit, add CC to videos from Coursera, YouTube, etc. This would be great to use with content-based lessons, etc. Upload your video or link to videonot.es online to get started.

This is a round-up of ways to add interactive elements to your own videos. These can enhance videos for flipped lessons. One of these tools is YouTube itself, which has built-in annotation tools. Mad Video lets you insert interactive tags to websites, images, or other video directly into YouTube videos. WireWax lets you insert a different audio track into the original video, while Blubbr creates video-based quizzes. Have fun!

Archive and sort your favorite bookmarks. I use Diigo for the CALL-IS Virtual Software Library. Anyone can join the related group and add to the bookmarks.
