Nik demonstrates an annoying little game, but you might use this to teach new key-boarders how to hit the keys on a QWERTY keyboard, or practice the alphabet. Has interesting potential. It's free and quick to make games.

This web resource is for teachers of high beginning and intermediate writing courses and intermediate ESL learners. The resource provides 8 units that 1) teach about paragraph structure and paragraph elements: topic sentence, supporting sentences, and concluding sentence 2) introduce transition words and coherence in a paragraph 3) provide the opportunity to learn about and practice basic writing skills such as making an outline and staying on topic. Clear explanations are supported by examples; therefore, teacher can use this resource for class preparation, and ESL learners can use it as additional material to learn about paragraph writing. Practice activities provided by the website are not interactive; however, most of the assessment tasks have answer keys. Thinking about texts, and using "pinwheel discussion" in groups to discuss several books together and how they relate to each other. Students "impersonate" authors and there is a "provocateur" in each group to pose significant questions. Nice teaching plan that could be adopted for several different levels/ages. This particular lesson is for grades 9-12 (ages 14-18), and is keyed to Common Core standards. Could be used with historical characters also.

"Mapping History contains hundreds animated and interactive maps from key events in the history's of the United States, Europe, Latin America, and Africa. The U.S. maps are sorted chronologically and by event or era. The European maps section is categorized more by topic and appears to be still under construction. The Latin America section is sorted into three regions (Caribbean, Central America, South America) and there are four African maps, each one shows the continent's division and political borders at various points of history. A compilation of math post with links to great sites for teach math. Several of these are detailed videos describing key standards in the common core by grade level. Some are how to teach items, others virtual manipulatives, lessons plans, ways to brush up on a subject or use flipped learning.

Might be a good activity to summarize and followup a video project. Students might compare vidinotes to see if they all felt the same frames were key to a project.

This seems like an interesting way to present (and solve?) problems with your students. I could imagine it being used to solved behavior problems, but I'm not sure how practical this would be in real life. How it works 1. You enter a problem. 2. You enter ideas that could solve the problem. 3. Some ideas lead to new (hopefully smaller) problems. 4. When a problem is solved, the tree gets green. A problem is considered solved, when you found an idea that does not lead to a new problem. The URL is the key * The URL is cryptic (no two URLS are alike).
