Pathbrite - ePortfolio Maker - 5 views

This is a tool recommended by a Webhead for creating an eportfolio. Sign up is free and there is a special section for educators. Like many new online tools, this may eventually become not-free bu in the meantime it looks like a good place to collect and display student work. Allows for all types of media and you can organize in a variety of ways. Media can be uploaded from your computer or from various social media you use. A little slow and clunky, but usable.

ePortfolios Help Clayton State University Assess Student Learning and Program : Campus ... - 1 views

  • Clayton State University's core mission is to provide superior career-oriented studies that will prepare its students to succeed in the world of work in the 21st century. A member of the Georgia University system with an enrollment of approximately 5,700, Clayton (www.clayton.edu) required its students to bring a laptop to campus as early as 1998. Now Clayton is introducing ePortfolios to campus, adding additional value to the students' use of their computers and providing a mechanism to document the outcomes of their education. Currently, we are using the portfolios in our department of Dental Hygiene and In the Department of Teacher Education.

About E-Portfolios - Mahara ePortfolio System - 2 views

  •
"An ePorfolio allows for building in reflective activities for learners and staff, through blog functions and the creation of 'Critical incident diaries' in which users reflect on their learning and experiences over a given period or activity. For example, this could be reflections on how a student dealt with a problem, or processed some new information on a given topic. This can become a two way process with a tutor or peer providing feedback via the same diary." A very short article speaking to the notion of "reflective learning." A must-read for all teachers.

LInks and insights from a talk at the iPadpalooza Conference 2015, Austin, TX: "Giving students websites increases motivation, reflection, and ownership of learning A blog is a type of website that includes an RSS feed (subscription) and comments (feedback loop) An ePortfolio is a structured blog or website that includes scaffolding for organizing student work Publishing on the web is not only 'the law', it builds digital citizenship and provides an authentic audience for students There are tons of web publishing tools available. WordPress powers 25% of the entire web for a reason. Many schools and districts are providing WordPress blog and website networks to every teacher and student. No two implementations are the same. Make it your own. But know there are tons of resources available."
