Students take surveys of different areas to find the best habitat for dandelions. They will think and hypothesize all while being engaged by being outdoors.
Students will be able to witness what a solid and liquid are all the while being intrigued and engaged because of the use of ice cream. Great activity for grades K-1. They will be able to witness the science behind what makes a liquid and a solid. Represents the nature of science as well.
The Design ProcessAs citizens of the constructed world, students will participate in the design process. Students will learn to use materials and tools safely and employ the basic principles of the engineering design process in order to find solutions to problems.3.4.2
Students will be able to benefit from making the helicopters by observing the design process. Observing the motion of the object, and learning what contributes to its flight/spinning motion is the main basis of the activity.

This was a wonderful experiment that our cohort did in our family science class. It was very fun for us, and so Im sure it will be fun for the kids. It will allow students to see basic principles of what makes a rocket move.
Students will think about how the spine works as they construct and build a mock spine. This activity will get them thinking about the deisgn process. They will see how and why the spine bends. This is a great visual tool.
This is a great way for students to visualize what components are actually in our blood. It is hard for most kids to understand what they cannot see. If they cannot see the ed blood cells, white blood cells, and plasma, it can be confusing for them. This activity can imulate blood and the studetns can see all of the different componenets.
This is a good project for engaging students in learning about the planets, the order of the planets, and the way the planets orbit. This is also a great project for understanding design process
This is a great activity for covering design process, and why things move and how. This can encompass design process as well as basic physics. This will get the students' creative juices flowing when they are designing their car, which will be the best way to engage them.
This is a great design process experiement where the students can see the process fo design and also see what happens whern different oils and water mixes. This is something fun that the students will be very engaged in while deisgning and making their own lava lamps.

This activity has the ability to show students why and how the phases of the moon really work. Not a lot of prep time and materials needed.Great for students to see a model of what is happening during the phases of the moon.
This activity is great for giving children an awareness of the environment. They can make connections to the real world that they live in and can get them thinking about the nature of science by observation. They can see pollution in action.
This is an engaging way for students to learn about the planets and solar system. Instead of a bedroom planetarium, this can be a classroom planetarium. They can all be involved in making the solar system pieces. There will be discussion in the classroom while showcasing our planetarium.

Earth Science Activity which includes exploration and exercise. Children will be engaged because they are exploring the outdoors. They will find one object from nature that begins with 1 letter from the alphabet and put these items in a flip book, and write about the items. Great for alphabet skills, earth science skills, and writing skills.
This activity will give children plenty of practice in figuring out the lowest common multiple of two numbers. This will be practice where they need to think fast and eventaully get to the point where they can memorize what thei LCM of certain numbers are. Can be used in 5th grade and high level 4th.
Wonderful for any grade level. It all epends what kind of math you decide to use with this activity. You can use addition, subtration for the lower grades with lower numbers, and multiplication and division with higher numbers for higher grade levels.
This is a great activity that could be used as early as grade K. This can really help young students grasp a full awareness of shapes and how they are formed.
This activity engages students by having them think fast to identify odd and even numbers. Could be used with other concepts of math and other flash cards. Playing cards do not need to be used.
Love this because it takes a subject like graphing algebraic equations and turns it into a fun battleship game. Great for in class partner work. Suggested only for 6th grade, possibly higher level 5th grade math.
