Lot of Elks lodges in the same dire situation. Just holding on due to the dedication of a few aging members.

Excellent joint effort with a service and fraternal club Good gifts plus they were combined with a class on how to find words. Plus Pledge of allegiance and Flag etiquette

Nice building. Lots of good community activities. BUT, we are a fraternal organization and our charitable works "are an outgrowth of the strong bonds of friendship forged by the fires of the Home Lodge"

Hard to believe how well this former Elks lodge is doing. GL really screwed up to lose this one.

Losing this lodge is a tremendous loss for the Elks and gives the Order quite a public black eye. Hopefully the remaining members of the Austin lodge can keep the facility. Even if they do win in court though it will be quite a struggle to regain the former membership, become financially stable and remain a viable non-profit for the long term. They will need it.} It is more than likely that they have struggled, they haven't given up, and in my opinion have shown all of us what a determined membership can accomplish. Kudos to former Austin lodge, now The High Road on Dawson.
