Ideas for importing text to wordle and using that text in a lesson to discover the "gist" of an article or poem.

This is a toy for generating word clouds from text. You can tweak your clouds with different fonts, colours, and layouts. Take a screen shot to save your creation as there isn't a way to export as a jpeg. Wordles would make great title pages or slides and could be a fun class brainstorming activity or a way for kids to practice writing their spelling words.

This is a narrated tour of the main Web2.0 writing tools currently available. I bookmarked for the excellent content but also as a great example of how to use Flowgram to do a narrated web tour.

This is an amazing tool for students or teachers to create interactive guided presentations by combining web pages, photos, Power Point and more with your voice, notes and highlights. Viewers can control the pages, scroll, click on links, view videos and more.

SET-BC is a Provincial Resource Program designed to assist school districts in British Columbia in meeting the assistive technology needs of students with physical disabilities and visual impairments. There are lots of free downloadable tutorials and curriculum materials associated with AT programs such as Kurzweil, Clicker5, Boardmaker, and others at this site.

This is a subscription site, but it does have a free trial. They have high quality educational videos and research to back up its educational effectiveness. The pricing is posted on their website. In BC, ERAC has special United Streaming pricing.

Formerly called Marco Polo, this phenomenal free site has resources in every subject. If you click on the Educators tab, you can search not only by topic and curriculum area but by the type of resource you want: lessons, worksheets, interactive, reference,
