You can download books and activities as pdf, epub or mobi." I have checked out several of the units and they look excellent for middle and high school.

If you are trying to figure out whether blogs/wikis/ning is better for your students, it looks like you can have it all and more at ThinkQuest! You need an account to sign in but under the Projects tab you can look at some public video tours of its features. ThinkQuest is a protected, online learning platform that enables teachers to integrate learning projects into their classroom curriculum and students to develop critical 21st century skills. It includes a project environment where teachers and students engage in collaborative learning; a competition space where students participate in website development contests; and the award-winning ThinkQuest library, a learning resource visited by millions.

Scratch is a new programming language that makes it easy to create your own interactive stories, animations, games, music, and art -- and share your creations on the web. Scratch is designed to help young people (ages 8 and up) develop 21st century learning skills. As they create and share Scratch projects, young people learn important mathematical and computational ideas, while also learning to think creatively, reason systematically, and work collaboratively.

While many educators realize technology's enormous potential to help them differentiate their instruction so that all students can learn, regardless of students' needs, abilities, or learning styles, it might be hard for them to find concrete applications of this approach to emulate in their classrooms. But in a Jan. 28 webinar from the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE), experts provided several examples of classroom projects that can help all students learn while keeping them engaged.

This presentation will describe ways that you can support literacy using free tools found on the internet. Types of technology supports for literacy will be discussed as well as the some of the free tools that are available on the Internet today. The last part of the session will deal with what Universal Design for Learning calls for and how the types of tools discussed can assist educators in achieving Universal Design for Learning in your classroom.

Awesome free online or downloadable tool for creating shape collages. I learned about it today from a teacher who is using it with students to create collages of their interests for the learning styles/preferences portion of their portfolio. Very quick to download and figure out...totally worth watching the 3 minute tutorial. Leaves a watermark with their company logo in the free version but the teacher says it was so successful she's going to buy the paid version.

This site offers 100 great web tools and classifies them according to learning styles. Students can bookmark it and choose the tools that will help them get projects done, or the teacher can help them choose one that will work best. Great tool!
