This Northwest Education Technology Consortium site features three strong examples of classroom integration of technology, one each from elementary, middle, and high school level.s. To provide valuable context, each example features background information about the school and teacher, how the projects was planned and organized, how students accessed technology, and how teachers assessed students work. Examples of student work are included. The format used is very engaging and provides a good model of how to present a unit.
While many educators realize technology's enormous potential to help them differentiate their instruction so that all students can learn, regardless of students' needs, abilities, or learning styles, it might be hard for them to find concrete applications of this approach to emulate in their classrooms. But in a Jan. 28 webinar from the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE), experts provided several examples of classroom projects that can help all students learn while keeping them engaged.
This site introduces you to the options for using technology in your classroom, e.g. webcasts, webcams, current news sources, inquiry-learning. Even more important, it explains why it's important to make instruction meaningful, current, and engaging for today's students. This is a great place to start exploring your options for integrating technology in the classroom.
iLearn Technology is one of the best blogs I've seen for teaching educators about integrating technology and computer curriculum into the classroom. Kelly Tenkely presents the latest Web2.0 gadgets but also writes about how she's using them in her grade 5 classroom.
Before you jump on the SAMR bandwagon, give this a read. I wrote in a previous post my thoughts on how the SAMR model degrades/demeans meaningful technology based learning activities and directs teachers to think of their use of technology as insufficien…

There are a handful of questions I can count on being asked at least once at every school in which I do instructional technology coaching. I'm sure many of you have the same issues, so I thought I'd share. Good solid advice for 1)showing YouTube videos, 2)mirroring iPads to SMARTBoards and 3)the best answer to the "must-have" apps question.
How can students use tech to make thinking visible? How can we use tech to make sure every student is heard? How can we use tech for students to share what their learning with each other?

Maureen LaFleche spotted this great resource and here's what she has to say about it "Check out CK-12.org. It is a website that provides open-source content and technology tools to help teachers provide learning opportunities for students globally. Free access to high-quality, customizable educational content in multiple modalities suited to multiple student learning styles and levels, will allow teachers, students and others to innovate and experiment with new models of learning. CK-12 helps students and teachers alike by enabling rapid customization and experimentation of teaching and learning styles. Text can be read at two different levels - grade level and basic. You can download books and activities as pdf, epub or mobi." I have checked out several of the units and they look excellent for middle and high school.
open letter to creator of SAMR model asking where is the research and educational credentials to back up his ideas. The SAMR model has become very popular but perhaps we should proceed with caution. For now, I am sticking to the UDL guidelines as the model I use when advocating any educational practice including the use of technology.
Great post shows the difference between old-school and wonderfully creative Pro-D on technology. Participants used tech in the course of real problem solving. Posts about ChatterPix written by Ms. Hayes
