Obama needs a 'Plan B' on guns - 2 views

  •
Obama may not have votes for gun legislation to pass
  • ...2 more comments...

i think that obama should have a plan b when it comes to guns because there is always stories about how someone gets killed when they didnt do anything wrong
  •
i think there should be laws but you should have to take classes to even get a gun not just be able to go in and with a simple backround and just get one
  •
I believe gun makers are just doing what will get them the most amount of profit, since there are no laws requiring them to make weapons safer, easier to match, or track they see no point in helping, since it would cost more money to fulfill these requests.
  •
The reason it failed is because he is not using common sense, you cant just expect someone to do something you tell them too. No they need to think about the fact and solve the issue, like school shootings and gangs in the cities thinking they can run the place, because they are cool no. You need to use mind and use it wisely and if that doesn't work than i would suggest using brute force like getting the people that are paid to solve these problems like going in to the main source of violence which would be the gang shootings and take them into custody and put them behind bars for a long time which might be the only solution he has to offer who knows.

Man sues over ¨ugly baby¨ - 4 views

  •
This is crazy how could someone sue their wife for having an ugly baby? I don't think the court should allow this to even be a case..
  • ...9 more comments...
  •
This man is disgusting. He married his wife for 'love'? If he really did love her, he would have been able to get past the way their daughter looked. Why this was a case is beyond me..
  •
I don't think you should be able to sue someone for having an ugly baby. It's not anyone's "fault", and if it were, the blame could not be placed SOLELY on the mother. I don't think this guy has a legitimate reason to sue his wife, and obviously he is a little disturbed. I don't think the courts should even allow this to be a case.
  •
    This is nuts!
  •
Thats the most ridiculous thing to sue over and the worse thing was that he won. He has to remember that half of that baby's DNA is his.
  •
Its sad that people are so concerned about appearance. He has no right to discourage the child. This shows people will go to extremes to keep a good reputation.
  •
This is just wrong. He can't blame the mother, the baby is his just as much as it is his mother's. Besides it's not like she chose for the baby to be ugly!
  •
This is just down right awful. How could someone be so cold? He is so concerned about appearance that he can't even love his own child. And the fact that the court agreed with him and gave him 12 hundred dollars is just wrong.
  •
How could someone say that about their own child. However, it was wrong of the mother to not mention her surgeries, but if he really did ever care about her, he would not have said such things.
  •
who sues heir own wife for having a ugly baby ..... does he know that baby is his just as much as it is his mother's. He is mostly suing himself !
  •
This is wrong because a lot of baby's are not cute when they are born but at the same time some are.
  •
Lololololol. What? Just because the woman is "ugly" doesn't mean the baby's appearance is entirely her fault. It was his sperm along with her egg. His DNA and hers. Wouldn't that make him partially responsible? This case shouldn't have even been allowed to go to court.

Teen Pregnancy Rates in Rural Areas - Educational Problem? - 0 views

  •
Education does get taken away, once you ave a baby.
  • ...3 more comments...
  •
I like this post Cause it makes you think about the causes of becoming pregnant When your still in school. Like the girl in the reading that had plans to go to school for 4 years and didn't because she had a child.
  •
Teen pregnancy is a great deal and seemingly popular. For instance the teen mom show which doesn't show consequences of pregnancy it almost glorifies the fact those girls are pregnant. Im not saying its totally wrong to get pregnant but its not the smartest choice a teen girl could make.
  •
Well some teen mom's do go back school after having their baby because their education is still important to them so they try to make an effort on finishing school whatever way they can.
  •
Just because you get pregnant doesn't mean your life is going to go downhill, many girls get pregnant, become single mothers, and still graduate high school, sometimes a year early and get a full time job and raise their child.
  •
Yeah true Jamie, But I disagree that its okay because most of the population of teen girls having babies think its a new accessory and are unfit to support it. A part time job at taco bell is not enough to support a family.

Manning plea statement: Americans had a right to know 'true cost of war' - 1 views

"Bradley Manning, the solider accused of the biggest unauthorised disclosure of state secrets in US history, has admitted for the first time to being the source of the leak, telling a military court that he passed the information to a whistleblowing website because he believed the American people had a right to know the "true costs of war"."

Juvenile lockup rates are dropping in Florida - 0 views

  •
Emphasis on keeping teens out of crimes and declining juvenile crime rates has made the juvenile lockup rates go down
  • ...3 more comments...
  •
Lockup rates have not only dropped in Florida but, also nationwide. Juvenile lockup rates have gone up to about 55% in some places.
  •
The dropping juvenile lockup rates are dropping in Florida. It is a good thing because that means people are staying out of trouble. Shows that teens are actually learning something from their mistakes, and hopefully growing up!
  •
im glad the teens are getting there heads out there butts and starting to grow up
  •
Maybe more states should take note from whatever Florida is doing because locking up teens for some of the smallest things like truency isn't going to fix anything but probably cause more problems.
  •
Hopefully the lockup rates will continue to go down, not just in Florida, but everywhere.

I also support the right to die movement. I watched a really interesting documentary, How to Die in Oregon, about Oregon's Death with Dignity Act. It's a really interesting movie and I'd suggest it to anyone.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/celebritynews/9334190/Sir-Terry-Pratchett-opponents-of-assisted-suicide-stir-up-needless-hysteria.html This article doesn't mention the movement in the U.S., but I really like what Sir Pratchett says about the opposition to the right to die movement.
  •
Hmm. This is a very interesting and touchy topic. Personally I think that if the patient is mentally stable and capable of making this choice then they should be allowed to do it. If it was me, I wouldn't want to suffer with a terminal illness. This method is just more humane than jumping off a cliff or pulling the trigger
  •
I very much agree with the right-to-die movement and i especially agree with Hayley.
  •
This is quite a weird subject! I think that people should have the right.
  •
I think people should have the right, it's there life.
  •
Very interesting. I believe that if the patient is terminally ill, and has the ability to consciously decide if they want to die, then it is really their choice and no one else's.

When U.S.A! U.S.A! chant is not patriotic - CNN.com - 4 views

I think it's okay to cheer for your country when you're trying to support them, but if you're doing it to offend other races, then that's different.
  •
Some people take their patriotism too far. But then again, other races look for reasons to call Americans racist.
  •
Patriotism is huge to Americans. Chanting USA at USA games shows that they are patriotic but when you chant it towards other races because you believe they are not true Americans is a different story. Those people who offended others by chanting that should be punished.
  •
I think representing your country is not offensive. Other people have the option to do the same things in representing what they stand for.
  •
This happened at one of the basketball games I was at this year and I thought it was very disrespectful but nothing was said or done to the student section that said it.
  •
Those people were just stupid, they took the chant to a whole different level how it wasn't meant to be.

When we use something from the school like a uniform or a book and it isn't returned we are fined the price of the item. I lose my basketball uniform, I pay $40. How come when this women takes something that is worth 24$ she must pay 10,000x what it is worth to the owner?
