    Hello Everybody! My name is Jenna Eiker and I am junior (third year) Art Education major at Penn State and a native Pennsylvanian.

    All the time growing up, and even now, my family and friends and others I have known have used the phrase "back to the drawing board". While literally this phrase was created during World War 2, and refers to going back to make a new plan or idea after your initial one has failed, it also has a little different meaning to me. For me, the phrase not only means going back to find a new plan or idea but it also gives the inspiration to try, try and try again.

    I great example of this idiom is the provided website below.

    In terms of this website you get a definition of the idiom as well as a photo that portrays failed attempts and "going back to the drawing board".

    Sarah and Brooks your web quest is looking great!

    1.) I like the soft and visually aesthetic background for your project. I like how you define terms that they may not be familiar with. Perhaps instead of listing in the task make it bullet points so that its clear and they won't get lost.

    2.) I like the ideas of commenting on each others pieces. Perhaps provide information on how to upload and save in case they aren't aware. The idea of critiquing the work and then others critiquing it is a great way to include discussion between different people and to see others thoughts as well as critically thinking on their own.

    3.) As of right now I don't see your evaluation, but perhaps you could think about how creatively they approached their theme and the thoughts and ideas behind their exhibition.

    4.) I like that you include the blog so that students can respond to each other. How are you planning on the students getting the links to the other curatorial projects so that they can comment and critique?

    Your web quest looks like it is going to be great!
    1.) I love the aesthetics of your website and how it blends Renaissance and Yola art.You might want to check some of the word choices to make sure they are eighth grade reading levels.
    The timeline is a great idea and I think its going to really help the students understand the concepts better.

    2.) Based on the Google Doc that you showed us, I believe that your task and process will definitely make your students think critically about the artwork and the connection between them. The use of discussion is great and will allow for some great feedback between students!

    3.) I know that you are still working on you rubrics, but I love where you are going with them. The ideas of incorporating participation, work ethic, and their graded final piece are great ideas! Possibly you might want to critique them on their responses and reflections and give them a guideline that you would like to see on those.

    4.) As of right now I don't see any Web 2.0 technologies in the web quest. But i did see on your google doc that you are planning on adding in Youtube videos. That will be a great addition tot he lesson. Your ideas of incorporating youtube videos and such is a great idea to help keep it interesting and different medias to teach the lesson. Perhaps you could also incorporate a blog to use for the reflections and responses so that the other students will be able to read each other's responses.

    5.) I know from your Google Doc that you are incorporating discussion for the students to interact with students and artwork. Perhaps you could also incorporate a blog for your students to see each others responses. We are using the Phynxe for our blog on our website. It is an app on the wix website that you can add. Also maybe you could use picasa or another website to display the other students artwork.
