    1. Does the visual design convey a theme; text is visually reading; writing is clear, succinct and age appropriate?
    - I think that all of the writing that you have on your page is well written and age appropriate. I might add a little more detail in the Task section of the webquest, describing the idea of a theme in art, and what a theme means just to make sure everyone is on the same page. Other than that what you have so far looked like the makings of a successful webquest.
    2. Does the task and process facilitate critical and creative thinking throughout the lesson?
    - Yes, I think that the children will enjoy creating a theme based "exhibit" of artwork they are interested in as well as creating their own artwork to fit into the theme. I really like the idea of having them create their own image based on the theme that they have chosen. This will spark their creativity and really make them understand their theme better than if they just put a few images together that they liked or that looked similar.
    3. Are the rubrics clearand relate to goals of the webquest?
    - N/A rubric needed
    4. Does this webquest use 2.0 technologies for clearly articulated art learning goals?
    - you can doooo iiiittttt
    5. Does this webquest include a way for students to interact with others and the student created content?
    - Pnyxe forum?

Sarah and Brooks your web quest is looking great!

1.) I like the soft and visually aesthetic background for your project. I like how you define terms that they may not be familiar with. Perhaps instead of listing in the task make it bullet points so that its clear and they won't get lost.

2.) I like the ideas of commenting on each others pieces. Perhaps provide information on how to upload and save in case they aren't aware. The idea of critiquing the work and then others critiquing it is a great way to include discussion between different people and to see others thoughts as well as critically thinking on their own.

3.) As of right now I don't see your evaluation, but perhaps you could think about how creatively they approached their theme and the thoughts and ideas behind their exhibition.

4.) I like that you include the blog so that students can respond to each other. How are you planning on the students getting the links to the other curatorial projects so that they can comment and critique?

Looks great! Keep up the great work! Look forward to seeing it!

    1. The design seems to fit together well, but I would recommend incorporating more images from a museum to make it more visually interesting. I think the colors and font though are all very easy to look at and read. I think it is great that you defined what a curator is as well as contemporary art. The process was very easy to follow along, but you may want to explain what it means to critique someone's artwork. I don't know if it is a term they are highly familiar with so I think an explanation and maybe even an example would be appropriate. It also may be advantageous to provide a list of themes to choose from as well, or explain it more thoroughly about what a theme looks like in art to be sure the students fully understand.

    2. The task and process will definitely facilitate critical and creative thinking, in that the students will be looking at different themes within art, finding art that fits into that theme and then discussing it. The students will be given the chance to really explore different kinds of art and analyze it so that they can create a piece that fits in with them.

    3. Currently there is no rubric.

    4. They use web2.0 technology for the students to blog their responses as well as for uploading the students images of the work they create and the powerpoint slides they design as curator. I think it's great that the students will have the opportunity to expand their knowledge of famous artworks and themes within and have an opportunity to discuss their findings with their peers.

    5. The students can interact on the website with the pnyxe app they included for the student's to blog their responses. They will also be uploading the students' presentations for the rest of the class to look at and explore.

I think what you have done so far looks really good!
Visually it is very appealing although listing things more clearly like with bullet points or stars may be helpful.

The webquest very much facilitates critical and creative thinking. By asking students to pick a theme in which they will place artwork within. IT allows them to analyze art and think about what messages the artwork is sending to the viewer. I especially like the students creating a piece of artwork that will fit into their themed exhibition. By asking students to critique each others work you are establishing discussion about why they have chosen what they have.

I know you mentioned in class what your rubric would be like and it sounds great. Looking forward to seeing it.

A blog is a great way to use web2.0 technology, but it needs to be accessible to everyone

I think the whole project is a great concept to help students better understand analyzing art. good job! keep goinnng.

    1. The text is readable, clear and succinct. I think that it is written in a way that the students will be able to understand. The visual design could be amped up a bit as could ours. Putting up pictures that show museum exhibitions and different works of contemporary art would be an awesome way to get them excited for the project.

    2. Coming up with a theme definitely involves critical thinking. It is difficult to come up with themes in my own work so I know that they will have to really think about it, which is a good thing. Taking that to the next level of finding pieces by contemporary artists that are all related to that theme also involves a lot of critical thinking and research. Then creating their own piece to fit into the collection and theme involves even more critical and creative thinking. I think that in general your project will challenge these students and ask them to think and work in ways that they have not before.

    3. There is no rubric here but writing out clear point values to their overall performance is important for them to know what is expected of them. It also makes it easier on you she you grade their final product.

    4. This WebQuest uses Web 2.0 through the blogspot website. This is where the students create their exhibitions and look for contemporary artworks and artists.

    5. Students are able to interact with each other through the blog. Will they be able to respond to one another's work. After they complete their project they have to compile a powerpoint, which will be uploaded to the WebQuest site. This is another way that the students can look at each other's final products.

Great WebQuest that enables students to explore contemporary artists while acting as curators!

Suggestions: Providing additional theme examples would likely help students. Keep wording as clear and simple as possible. Eighth graders will not fully understand terms such as feminism. Rather than asking students to use their names when making comments and postings, please revise this request by asking for initials.
