    Read the highlighted sections of this report. Research is finding the connection between neuroscience and education that can benefit student learning. THis research suggests students with dyslexia who utilize their right brain tendencies (which suggests to me the creative side of the brain) can make improvements in comprehension. I would like to read more studies on this effect!

    Bloggins is the web 2.0 tool that I like the most. I can think of ways that I could use it for guidance class and computer class. I think it's interesting to see how other teachers use it. If I come up with good ideas, my school may take the block off of blogging!

    This website has research-based practices and translates it into practical tools to improve classroom instruction. You can learn what works, understand the research, see what works, see it actually in action many times in the classroom through video, and do what works, download tools that can support the work. This is an awesome sight for educators! This site has many things that teachers could use to learn about and hone in on their instructional practices. It is a great springboard for learning and then using some web 2.0 tools to provide opportunities to collaborate with teachers either within their districts or in other districts would be a powerful learning tool.

This site includes information on how to Design your Project. It assists teachers in planning rigorous and relevant standards-focused projects that engage students in authentic learning activities, teach 21st century skills, and demand demonstration of mastery. It also provides a search for projects developed by others (small collection) or the ability to contribute projects to the PBL-Online Collaboratory and Project Library. Teachers can Learn what defines Project Based Learning and the PBL-Online approach to successful project design. There is also an area to Review research and find web resources about effective Project Based Learning. There is also an area to purchase the BIE //Project Based Learning Handbook// which is the foundation for the PBL-Online website. A nice collection of videos is also available on the site.     This class has been my first experience with Moodle, and I'm loving it! Just a few years back, I would have been the first to argue that an on-line class could NEVER be as effective as a face to face class. I'm eating my words, now! Not only am I finding Moodle to be a very effective "container" for a class, but I'm even thinking that in several ways, the on-line experience is better than the face to face would be. I really want to explore this site further, and learn for myself how to use Moodle to deliver class content in an on-line environment, rather than a face to face environment.

    Julie, I have been thinking many of the same things. As a staff, we were introduced to Moodle several years ago. However, with very little instruction on how to do it, it didn't go very far. I too LOVE the idea of using moodle as the 'container." I have often thought that if we did the "dirty work" in the classroom - like the reading, the researching, etc, then the students could go home and do the fun stuff - like commenting in a blog. Would that not seem like homework? Thanks for thinking the same things.

      This is interesting because the article is not saying the books are outdated or there is a lack of space, but instead the library is making the choice to create more of a coffee shop feel. I wonder if other university libraries will follow suit? If so, is this a matter of giving the patrons what they want or making it okay to ignore valuable books?

    This is a good place for parents to look for information when searching for quality child care. You can access a child care options calculator which will help families examine their financial situation both with and without child care. Families can get an idea of their monthly budget and how child care will impact that budget. Find Alex the Bear on this website, who will help your child with the transition to child care. This website also explains what Child Care Resource and Referral can do for you and will help with finding a local CCR&R. This website is also a great resource for anyone interested in becoming a child care provider. I would use this website in my research for a parent or provider.
