This is a site that provides step-by-step guidance on creating project-based learning units. It not only gives the rationale behind PBL as a unit design model, but also guides the user through each step of the creation process. It appears to be very easy to use, and provides information at each step that ensures a quality product. In addition to the very clear steps to take, as well as the 'theory' behind each step, there are numerous examples of completed PBL projects to view. I will use this site myself, as I really like the idea of redesigning portions of my instruction using this model. I will also direct teachers to it when we are discussing teaching strategies and instructional design models that are compatible with how the brain learns. The "briefs" and the literature reviews for each of the Characteristics of Effective Instruction (within the Iowa Core) contain numerous references to project/problem- based learning as an instructional design model that matches the vision of the Iowa Core.

Moodle - 1 views

This class has been my first experience with Moodle, and I'm loving it! Just a few years back, I would have been the first to argue that an on-line class could NEVER be as effective as a face to face class. I'm eating my words, now! Not only am I finding Moodle to be a very effective "container" for a class, but I'm even thinking that in several ways, the on-line experience is better than the face to face would be. I really want to explore this site further, and learn for myself how to use Moodle to deliver class content in an on-line environment, rather than a face to face environment.

Prezi - 1 views

I'd heard of this tool but didn't know much about it. I registered for a free account and have been able to explore. There are three main tabs: Your Prezis, Learn, and Explore. I was able to look at many examples of Prezis under the Explore tab, which gave me an idea of how I might use this tool in my current work. It looks like a good alternative to PPT.
