is this really worth a nature paper??
  •
Funny to read this question exactly from you, the all and ever fan of anything linked to bio :-) I have read worse papers in nature and in addition it's just "Nature physics", viz. "Nature garbage." Could be that they don't find enough really good stuff to publish in all their topical clones of Nature.

Track changes with LaTeX - 3 views

  •
did any of you Latex gurus already try this out?
  • ...1 more comment...
  •
It's installed on my computer, but I never really used it. I think it's fine, but for my purposes latexdiff mostly is enough.
  •
I assume that you use latexdiff from the command line ... still have to find a nice script with which to integrate it into the TexShop GUI for Karène ...
  •
A command line is an interface as well. I was able to explain via phone to a (computer-wise) avarage undereducated Mac-user how to install and run latexdiff. Thus I think also Karene can use it...

NASA budget for 2011 eliminates funds for manned lunar missions - washingtonpost.com - 3 views

  • NASA's grand plan to return to the moon, built on President George W. Bush's vision of an ambitious new chapter in space exploration, is about to vanish with hardly a whimper
  • a commercial spacecraft that could taxi astronauts into low Earth orbit
  • Obama budget as disastrous for human space fligh
  •
Personally I think this is great.
  • ...1 more comment...
  •
what is great exactly ? No human beings will put a foot on the Moon, or Mars, in the next 22 yrs and more ... what an awful waste!
  •
Well, the constellation program was a waste of money in its current form, overrun by delays and insufficient budget. We would have had Apollo 2.0 sixty years later, for what? At least now they are talking about going to asteroids, martian moons and stuff like that.
  •
I agree that Constellation was a mistake. It is though a pity that now human Mars missions would certainly happen even later than initially hoped.

The Olympics run on Windows (XP) | Beyond Binary - CNET News - 3 views

The good news for Microsoft is that all the PCs powering the Olympics are running Windows. The bad news: it's the older Windows XP operating system.

Now I start to understand why the Swiss win so many medals. That's most probably a bug!!!
