      I like Bill and Sheila for creating this great site for infolit!
  • These pages are produced by Sheila Webber, who teaches at Sheffield University, and Bill Johnston, who teaches at Strathclyde University (see who we are and what these pages are for, below). New on 3 September 2006. I am giving these pages an overhaul! The Definitions and models and Standards and position papers were updated today (3 Sept 2006), with new content added and links checked. I also did some content updating of the Resources and the Our views and publications pages, and corrected the links both for those and the Learning and Teaching Resources page. I removed a couple of the old sections (Events and People). The remaining sections were last updated in 2003, but I do intend to overhaul them too. For events, news, reports etc. I recommend looking on my Information Literacy weblog which normally has about 5 entries added a week.   • Being a 21th century teacher means we have to equip our students with the know-how of technology, there simply is no excuse to not fulfill our job.  Our students learn from us, even the way we react to change, so think of your approach as the newest thing is shown to you.  Will you model how to be fearless?

      We have opportunities to reach outside our own classrooms and communities to help others with the click of a button. We should be modeling this kind of action within our students. 
  • So last month they started a petition on Change.org, the go-to site for Web uprisings. They demanded that Universal Studios “let the Lorax speak for the trees.” The petition went viral, quickly gathering more than 57,000 signatures, and the studio updated the movie site with the environmental message that the kids had dictated.

    I saw this and also thought it was amazing. One of the advantages of technology is it really is an equalizer.
