As over 1,000 Social networks fight and innovate to grab their piece of the social networking space, the first six months of the year have included new features, redesigns, acquisitions, and IPOs… But who have been the biggest winners and losers of 2011? Let's see if we can shed some light on this qustion through an analysis of trends among 3,238 popular blog articles that have covered social platforms this year.

When choosing a map - especially a social network map - which do you prefer - pretty or useful? In an ideal world I would take pretty useful, but forced to choose between the two I'll take useful.
