This is an article on how the University of Edinburgh has decided to ban Robin Thicke's Blurred Lines from all Student Buildings because it promotes an unhealthy attitude towards sex and consent

A very interesting take on the Rated version of Blurred lines from a group of different teenagers. Some quotes I found interesting was: "If a guy watches it, they think its completely ok to do that to women and its not ok" "Its a song, not like its this whole movement saying 'women's suck'"

Joining Leeds University and Edinburgh University, Derby and West Scotland University have both decided to ban Robin Thicke's "Blurred Lines" because they perceive the lyrics to promote rape 

1990s grunge/rock/punk singer Courtney Love calls Katy Perry boring, but is excited by Miley Cyrus, calling her a sexy hillbilly. She also provides a dig toward Robin Thicke.

This is a parody of "Blurred Lines" mocking Amanda Bynes, performed by three drag queens (Detox, Willam Belli, and Vicky Vox).

We have heard the song, and heard parodies with opposite gender roles. What does everybody think about this cover with a female singing about a male. She does it in a much different way than we have seen with the actual song and the parodies we have looked at.

The video and an article on Billboard about Lily Allen's new song. The video is really interesting and relevant to what we've been discussing as Allen calls out industry sexism in the lyrics and has a reference to Robin Thicke's 'Blurred Lines' video.

I love this song and video, when I saw it I though Lily's back!! It seems she has taken a few years away to really see the industry for what it is and has come up with this song that addresses everything thats wrong it. My favourite line is 'if you can't detect the sarcasm then your misunderstood!'. I have so much respect for Lily Allen as an artist because her songs always tell it how it is, and she doen't feel the need to take her clothes off ( eg Miley Cyrus).This song reminds me of The Fear when she sings 'i'll take my clothes of and it will be shameless, because everyone knows that's how you get famous".

It was something we touched on a few classes ago about Miley Cyrus being the centre of attention in the VMAs controversy yet Robin Thicke managed to slice through without much criticism. In this article it is suggested that sexism and discrimination are really the only reason anyone is still talking about Miley's raunchy performance at the VMAs last month.
