Web. 19 Nov 2010. A study was conducted using the graduation rates of college student athletes in order to determine their legitimacy. Researchers concluded that graduation rates alone cannot account for the lower rates among athletes. They say that there are numerous factors that affect this, including admissions standards and wealth of the institution. The study also discusses the relationship between admissions and educational attainment. The study concludes with hopefully providing a model that promotes both academic and athletic excellence.

The NCAA posted graduation rates that show that their athletes are graduating at record rates this year.

Its goal was to discover how teachers were incorporating the presidential election coverage into their classes, or if they did so at all. Some teachers failed to include any current events into the classroom because it would not be tested on at the end of the year graduation tests. They focused on issues and subjects the students needed in order to pass and graduate.

The article is about the experiences of graduate students who have some language difficulty and how that can be a huge barrier to overcome especially in graduate studies. talking about his own experiences in learning in a different language, and what of kind of methods he used to adapt with the new learning environment. He also give the reader a lot on information on how to adapt even faster with the the environment and the Academic life.

Price, Joshua A. "The Effects of Higher Admission Standards on NCAA Student-Athletes: An Analysis of Proposition 16." Journal of Sports Economics 11.4 (2010), 363-382. Ohio Link. Web. 19 Nov. 2010 This was a study done to determine the effect an increase in minimum admission standards would have on student-athletes. This was done for a few reasons, but primarily to increase the graduation rates of athletes. It also shows that because of the increase in admission standards, more athletes began transferring from division two schools. The proposition required a higher GPA and standardized test scores from high school athletes in order to play college athletics. The graduation rates, beginning at 52%, increased annually for many years.

The latest NCAA graduation success rate report shows UD in the top 10 nationally with Notre Dame, Duke and Northwestern, among others.\n

Peterson, Sharon, et al. "Positive Changes in Perceptions and Selections of Healthful Foods by College Students After a Short-Term Point-of-Selection Intervention at a Dining Hall." By putting out flyers, signs, table tents, and numerous other things, these experimenters searched to find the link between these short term items next to healthy food items. They found that after having these out that college students tended to go to the more healthy options when they actually realized what they were. They concluded that not only did this short term effect work but that the college students did not know what their healthy options were and therefore were happy to be notified.

Academic Search Complete. EBSCO. Web. 22 Nov. 2010. Graduate students taught a group of college students more about nutrition and healthy options to eat. Coming out of the experiment students claimed to know more about nutrition and that having a graduate student as their teacher helped them learn. They said this because of their image and likeness to them. The outcome of this experience was a greater understanding of nutrition and advance in this field.

Web. 19 Nov. 2010 This article focuses on the NCAA progress rates over a period of years. It was clear that the progress of basketball and football players were relatively low. Also, the impact of the standards of college sports is discussed. Almost half of top level college football and basketball players are not expected to graduate. This staggering statistic raises many questions about the treatment of college athletes.
