Shim, Soyeon, et al. "Financial Socialization of First-year College Students: The Roles of Parents, Work, and Education." Journal of Youth & Adolescence 39.12 (2010): 1457-1470. Academic Search Complete. EBSCO. Web. 18 Nov. 2010. This article is based on first year college students regarding financial literacy. This study tested over two thousand students on their financial behaviors, financial tendencies, and financial knowledge. The study showed that students who had grown up with parents with good financial tendencies, also showed these strong tendencies. The study also said that when the students tested had developed good techniques at a young age, they were more then likely to have good techniques as adults. Lastly, the study confirmed that it takes a combination of financial literacy, financial behavior, and financial knowledge together in order to achieve a set of strong techniques.

Web. 18 Nov. 2010.\n\n- This site is about a technique for teaching Autistic children. The technique is called Pivotal Response Teaching (or PRT) and it goes into the method in depth. The article also offers suggestions for activities that would possibly interest Autistic children. It touches on all three learning types, as well. This article is about how peer tutoring is effective to everyone. Studies have shown that a peer tutoring relationship is more effective than just in a classroom. It has also been effective in the adult literacy area. Cross-age tutoring is proven to be less effective than true-age tutoring. The author argues how students should consider tutoring while in school and how it is a helpful tactic to their studies.

An environment that makes the students feel safe will assist in much better results. The site then goes on to list other categories of interest such as curriculum and approaches to take. Lastly, it talks about the importance of teacher commitment and not giving up on the students.

Web. 18 Nov. 2010. - This site talks a little about how teaching children with Autism can be different than teaching "regular" children. It touches base on the three basic types of learning. For example, visual learners like reading or seeing a demonstration. Auditory learners learn better from listening to lectures or audio tapes. Lastly, kinesthetic learners learn best from movement, or trying something out physically for themselves. Autistic kids usually focus purely on one of these methods, as opposed to unhandicapped kids, who usually display a mixture of the techniques.

One of the techniques used is POVM, which teaches children to maintain a conversation with a conversant. This study also helps improve vocal behavior, and eye contact. This practice has been shown to improve joint attention, self help, academic instruction, communication, and community survival. The use of these videos have also improved social skills in autistic people.

This book is about programs created to help students and their learning. The programs have been reinvented in order to help prepare students. The programs are also useful to help students become better with their literacy. The book also discusses 25 specific schools who are trying to improve there teaching skills. It focuses in on the teacher techniques and credibility. It is split into two sections, discussing the key characteristics of successful English and also field research like the types we will be using for this paper.

It talks about the different learning behaviors relating to male and females. It states that men enroll in school in order to achieve something, while women enrol for the sake of desire for learning. Men are said to pick up at task and master it until picking up a new one while women work with more than one task at the same time. Men and women have different learning, writing, and reading techniques from one another.\n\n

It was based on schools such as Texas Tech that have actual course at their institution that is based upon financial literacy and the knowledge of spending one's own money. Texas Tech is one of many schools that have a class like this one. The class in itself teaches students proper spending techniques. The purpose of the class is to teach students how to budget money, save when the time is right, and to buy only things or items that they can afford.

The purpose of the experiment was to bring awareness to the students at the end to show them what possible mistakes, or poor expenditures they had made. The study showed that when students tracked how they spent their money, they universally increased their spending knowledge, and made very few careless purchases. When these students actually tracked how they spent their money the study showed that they realized the values that their parents and guardians had taught them.

Experts believe that learning literacy early on for autistic children will not determine their total oral language development. They need to look at reading and writing as communication practices from an early age. It is also talks about how speech production can be improved through writing instructions. Social interaction is a large part of developing literacy.

This is the question that people ask themselves to determine the most beneficial style of learning, and how to improve the learning techniques of children.
