Colleges have better organization skills, thus, the better outcome in grades. The effects of tutoring are positive but also stronger than individual attention from a teacher. With a tutor, it's more personal and you are not just a student to the teacher.

An environment that makes the students feel safe will assist in much better results. The site then goes on to list other categories of interest such as curriculum and approaches to take. Lastly, it talks about the importance of teacher commitment and not giving up on the students.

This book is about the advantages of the uses of science and technolgoy in a classroom setting. It gives responses from the defferent points of view of students and teachers. You can see what ideas in which both students and teachers agree with and which disagree with. It discusses the pros and cons behind each arguement.

This article is tageted towards english teachers. It notes that the ability to distinguish good news from biased news is critcal for students to do research. She says that some news like in the Onion may look convincing, but it is slanted and biased and not as clear news as the New York Times. She gives advice to tell students how to determine what is fact and was is not when reading and reseraching the news.

Research has found that oral language skills of autistic children are similar in their reading development. Teachers are trying to prepare children with ASD for standardized tests of literacy, and progress in higher levels of academics. Reading skills can improve their oral skills as well.

Unfamiliar groups, cultures and languages can produce anxiety and hostility from those who don't understand or are ignorant to other cultures. This article offers several suggestions for teacher to go about incorporating global education into many different subjects.

This article houses many examples for this inquiry.

All in all, this article is used to inform readers of the changes within English literacy.

It goes on to tell how certain special needs educational institutions do not teach their students to read. One teacher was quoted saying "I don't have to worry about it [teaching reading]. My student's aren't readers and never will. This article provides a defense to why people with disabilities should not be deprived of the right to be literate.

This article is a study on the difference between kids with ADHD, kids with working memory difficulties and "normal" kids without ADHD or memory difficulties and their academic attainment ability. The children tested were between about eight and ten years old. They were given standardized tests to grade their literacy and numeracy. As expected, the children with ADHD and working memory difficulties had worse scores than the "normal" children. However, the results from the test allow teachers to recognize the students at risk and get them help.

It has also been effective in the adult literacy area. Cross-age tutoring is proven to be less effective than true-age tutoring. The author argues how students should consider tutoring while in school and how it is a helpful tactic to their studies.
