The differences in social, economic, and ethnic backgrounds of people and their use of technology was thoroughly described in this article. It also described the use of a digital world. The world is becoming more digitally based and the integration of technology is just getting started. The use of technology can greatly change the way we read and write and those effects are positive and negative.

The study was to see how the incorporation of technology affected to students academic performance. The mix of books and technology was to see which way of teaching is more efficient. Since kids grew up with technology it was an easy transition for them to use the PDAs.

Hartz, Deborah. "Literacy Leaps as Blind Students Embrace Technology." The English Journal 90.2 (2000): 52-59. JSTOR. Web. 16 Nov. 2010. Deborah Hartz is a teacher, who has taught high school English at The Arizona School for the Blind in Tuscan. Hartz uses a variety of technologies to help teach her students how to read. She gives detailed descriptions on the various types of machines and tells the usefulness of each machine. Some of the technology used in the class room include Braille n' Speak, Zoom Text Extra enlargement and speaking dictionaries. Hartz gives suggestions as to classroom design, and having a library in the classroom that also aid in teaching students who are visually impaired. Hartz explains how important technology is when teaching blind students because it motivates them to want to learn to read, edit and write. She says that the invention of more technology has made it easier for people with visual impairments to access Braille books and has made Braille even more popular among students.

This book is about the advantages of the uses of science and technolgoy in a classroom setting. It gives responses from the defferent points of view of students and teachers. You can see what ideas in which both students and teachers agree with and which disagree with. It discusses the pros and cons behind each arguement.

There is information relating to the past, present, and future uses of technology in this article. The coming of age and declaration of this integrated use had changed and effected many lives. A selection of students were chosen to be a test group. The study was researched to determine if technology has an effect on kids and their learning abilities.

Some people agree with the fact that the classroom setting should be more technologically advanced in order to keep up with the technological advances being made. However, there are some people that disagree with this and are against the idea of advancements of techonology being made in the classroom. It shows people's opinions on what is working and what is not.

It goes into how this would affect students in positive and negative ways. Would introducing students to techonology at a younger age benefit them more in the future? This is the question that people ask themselves to determine the most beneficial style of learning, and how to improve the learning techniques of children.

It really takes an in depth look at the effectiveness of using the blogs to help bridge the gap between teaching and students.

The kids regularly use or view YouTube (short clips relevant to what is being taught each day), digital storytelling (using technology to write and create stories), as well as blogs (they regularly write book reviews, homework, or view podcasts all on a moderated blogging website).

At a young age kids are more prone to text and be more technologically savvy. However, their literacy is effected by the amount of texting they do. Children that text less write more. Therefore, children that text more, write less and are less involved in their writing abilities. I will use this information in describing the effects of texting at young ages.

It discusses the changes that have been made to techonology in the past few years, and why it is a good idea to stay technologically savy in the classroom. You can see students' benefits and their opinions to being able to use techonology in their work environment.

This article discusses the current ways that social networking is being used to a positive advantage in schools. Within this article, it discusses the specific teaching methods that are put to use with current technological trends such as blogs, "status updates", and podcasts. The article goes into detail about real life classes that are using these certain technologies.

This article describes a study in which college students were tested in a classroom setting to see if using a computer beneftied them on the exam. It shows that it is not always effective, and goes into detail about why it might not be. Techonological advances have changed the way we learn in many ways; however, this does not necessarily mean that it has been chagned in positive ways. The common misconception is that anything new and improved is always beneficial; this article shows that it's not always the case.
