How to get rid of all caps tab titles in Microsoft Office 2013 Ribbon? - 0 views

  •
Beyond doubt Microsoft Office 2013 presents a clutter-free Ribbon UI inspired by Windows 8 Metro UI. And it has been thoroughly integrated with the Windows 8 Explorer. However, the use of ALL CAPS in tab titles looks awkward. Here is a quick way around to change the format into title case.

Add checkboxes to an Excel spreadsheet - 0 views

  •
If you're setting up a worksheet only for yourself, you can simply leave an empty cell for this purpose. To check it, just type in an x or any other character. Then use a formula with the =isblank() function to make the contents of that cell affect the rest of the spreadsheet. But you might want something more mouse-friendly--especially if you're designing a spreadsheet for other people. I've tested the technique below on Excel 2007, 2010, and 2013. I'm not sure about earlier versions. You can insert checkboxes on Excel's Developer tab. Unfortunately, that tab is hidden by default. To make it visible in Excel 2010 or 2013, click the File tab and select Options. ClickCustomize Ribbon. You'll see two lists. Make sure that the one on the right is titled Main Tabs. Check Developer.

What To Expect From Education In 2013 - 3 views

  •
"Guessing what the future of education holds is equal parts logic and guesswork. The logical part is simpler-take current trends and trace their arc further, doing your best to account for minor aberrations. If the majority of public education in the United States is waist-deep in adopting new academic standards, it doesn't take Nostradamus to predict they are going to have a strong gravity about them in the education at large."

National Geographic World Atlas for iPad | iPad Apps for School - 0 views

  •
"The National Geographic Word Atlas for 2013 is currently available as a free iPad app. I recommend grabbing it while it's free. The app features a globe that students can rotate, zoom-in, and zoom-out. When students zoom-in on a country they can open a panel of location details to discover some basic information about that country. The details pane for each country includes information about the country's population, geographic size, culture, and government."
