WebSlides - Transforms Bookmarks Once Again - 0 views

  • WebSlides - Transforms Bookmarks Once Again
  • This innovation is a browser based player that displays live Web pages with integrated annotation, sticky notes and highlights in an interactive slideshow. With this cool tool users can record and narrate tracks as well as add background music to make compelling shows - and somewhat more. WebSlides is being presented at the Office 2.0 Conference as I write this, so we wanted you to have a look at this simple, innovative and useful tool as well.
  • Web 2.0 has to a large extent been about new ways of organizing and manipulating data. This is particularly true of bookmarks and other links. Innovative developments like Second Brain, Particls and others have pushed the envelope in creating useful and fascinating ways for organizing all types of links and data. Well, testing this little tool makes me wonder why someone did not think of this before (I - know just comment and tell us about your service too). WebSlides is like StumbleUpon in motion actually. It does not yet have the "resident" features of SU, but WebSlide creations saved or submitted to other services will exhibit a similar feel. So just when we thought StumbleUpon and a host of others had done everything with pages - along comes WebSlides. Here is a short list of things users might do with this service. Create guided tours of websites Display a list of houses or other products to clients Bundle education resources or research data Make shows of favorite places when visiting or traveling Create briefings or tutorials and tours on virtually any subject Present a whole series of news stories on a topic to digg or del.icio.us and others for scrutiny Interactively submit "collections" of stories and data
  • ...5 more annotations...
  • WebSlides is not yet available for testing so we could not get in depth information on the slide creation UI and other features. However, the demo presentations are fairly awesome in presenting selections with music. I can think of at least 10 other uses for this tool - one of which might be used to rate news stories in collections (with voting). If the developers continue to improve on the exceptional "in show" page functionality - then WebSlides will be quite something. This service is deceptively simple in appearance, but making web pages functional within a relatively interactive slide show is not a simple feature. I like WebSlides and look forward to testing the service and also seeing how it is enhanced in the coming months. Combined with Diigo's other services, this fascinating tool could go viral quickly in my estimation. Check it out and perhaps comment on your ideas for its uses.

  • This is brilliant. Next time you’re going to a meeting where you want to show a selection of websites. Don’t worry about collapsing them all, just create a slideshow out of them.

About | WHY NOT SAVE THE WORLD? - 0 views

  • Why I am switching to Diigo from Google notebooks The context:  Over the years bookmarking tools have evolved with ever increasing ease-of-use and power.  Yet many times the migration pathway to new technology presents a formidable barrier to adoption, despite the desire for greater functionality. In my case, I have accumulated an archive of hundreds of bookmarks.  Most of these have been organized in the traditional way (folders, sub-folders) and reside primarily in my browser.  Occasionally, I need to dip in and find a bookmark, but flipping through folders and sub-folders or trying to remember and appropriate search term is terribly inefficient. First, Google Notebooks came to my rescue:  Google Notebooks provided a more efficient means of organizing and tracking bookmarks thematically, despite its inability to upload and convert my existing bookmarks, the functionality was compelling.  I made the switch.  Their excellent search engine provides rapid results plus as an added bonus it is incredibly easy to highlight relevant text from within websites.  Enter Diigo:  So why switch?  Features, features and more features.  Diigo is as easy to use as Google Notebooks with many more features.   These are the features that attract me most. 1.  Bookmarking and highlighting multiple blocks of text. 2.  Easy-to-use sticky notes and tagging form for rapid bookmarking. 3.  A powerful tag filter for rapid searching at all grain sizes. 4.  A method within Diigo to publish to my blog in Edublogs.  (I’m doing that now!) As a classroom teacher , I am intrigued by: 1.  The possibility of creating a shared resource with other like-minded teachers. 2.  Marking up webpages and sharing sticky notes with my students. 3.  The possibility that student’s themselves can mark-up nd share their thoughts with others students.
  • About publishing to a blog Right now, I am writing within Diigo.  I have set  up Diigo to publish to my Edublogs account.  So as I surf the web and come across an interesting website, I can highlight the most relevant text then right-click to bookmark, tag and write a sticky note to comment.  In the same drop-down menu, I can "blog this," which I am doing now. Here’s the link to a description of a joint venture to produce collaborative video for wikimedia.  This will go into my Diigo bookmarks with the tags, Web 2.0, authoring, video production.

Express Entry Invitations Issued by Ontario with 350 CRS Cut-off Score | Akkam - 0 views

  •
Ontario Issued 947 Express Entry Invitations with 350 Cut-off CRS Score As per the latest draw held on August 9, Ontario issued 947 new Express Entry Invitations to the Express Entry Candidates with cut-off Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) Score of as low as 350 through its Human Capital Priorities Stream. The CRS score for this draw ranged from 350 to 439 and Notifications of Interest (NOI) for those who submitted their Express Entry profile between 1st Jan 2018 and 8th Aug 2018 - said Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP). Express entry candidates need to have a job offer in Ontario if targeted in this latest draw. Ontario's Human Capital Priorities Stream allows the OINP to search the candidates from the express entry pool who meet the specific criteria of the stream. These criteria require the express entry candidates to have a CRS score of 400 or above. But this and the draw held on 26th March 2018 have waived the requirement of proficiency in French language and a job offer. A job offer is now not among the requirements of the Human Capital Priorities Stream. 6 out of the 8 draws held this year don't have the requirement of a job offer. Akkam Immigration is one of the India's most reputable overseas Visa and Immigration consultants. We are providing Australia/Canada PR Visa, Visit Visa, Tourist Visa, and Study Visa , South Africa Critical Skilled Visa, and Germany Job Seeker Visa.
