Diigo doesn't record your history. The server need the URL information to decide several things 1) Whether you have made highlights/Sticky notes on this page before, if yes, load them back. 2) Whether the some group members have made highlight/sticky note on this page before, if yes, load them back.
However, you can go to Diigo toolbar ==>Small drop down menu beside Highlight button ==> See All annotation ==> Don't show annotation.
Toolbar will not send URL to the server in this case.

I'm not sure but it seems like diigo can get my entire browsing history by this.
