Let me explain my use case. OUTSIDE of groups, I want faculty from various universities (unknown, in some cases) to be able to network around bookmarks (find each other and learn from each other) because they are all participating in concurrent and similar new media courses. We all know to use the tag, nmfs_s12. We need to be able to find ALL global, public, (whatever you want to call them) bookmarks with this tag. None are found when there is a community search. This means even those on my own campus cannot find the bookmarks. Now this explains why I thought no one was using Diigo at the other locations. And I'll never know who is...
It seems like Delicious too no longer indexes all tags... so sad. I can't even return there. We used to do some really good collaborative interaction on Delicious. What do I tell my faculty who want to use this in their classroom? Groups are the only option?
