In Diigo 3.1.6.13 added to Firefox 3.0.8 on Mac OS X 10.5.6:
* no annotations appear.
In Safari 4 Public Beta (5528.16):
* toolbar of Diigolet 3.1b523 fails to appear
- and so, annotations can not be presented
* a banner drops down and directs to nonexistent

This bug may be comparable to two other recent reports:
* public (anonymous) can not view annotations/highlights in Internet Explorer 7; Error: Invalid character; Code: 0
* annotated link fails to present annotations/highlights; Diigolet toolbar fails to drop down
In this new report, my eye is drawn to the apostrophe that's *seen* in the address bar of Firefox.

Reviewing this bug following upgrade to Diigo 4.0 beta, using
Safari Version 4.0.3 (6531.9) in Mac OS X 10.6.1 Build 10B504
http://www.diigo.com/05fmh leads to presentation of proxy icon for Diigolet.
When I disclose the toolbar it's version 4.0b5 and the message is:
This is an annotated view of - by Diigo. Failed
That rings a bell. Tag:
