Sections can improve the presentation of lists, especially to the public.
I have made some suggestions on ways in which presentation to the public can be further improved: Presentation of lists to the public should be cleaner and more focused — if you have any additional suggestions for improvement to presentation of lists, feel free to add them under that topic.
There's another useful topic that I can't find at the moment, when I do find it I'll add a note here.
Drag handles within a list are easier to work with in Diigo 4.0 beta than in Diigo 3 beta but there's no option to select multiple items then drag. Honestly I don't know whether it's possible with Ajax.
Let's say you have four sections, all tidy, then whilst browsing and bookmarking you add three items (one by one) that fall, as new items, to the foot of the list. You decide you want them within the second section. A trick:
1. at the foot of the list, for each of the three newcomers, click Top
2. at the existing second section, for each item below the section break, click Top
3. for the section break, click Top if you do that 1, 2, 3 that on screen you'll probably guess what's next, but for completeness:
4. what was the first section has been demoted to second place, so repeat steps 2 and 3 :)

Never mind, here's one of the hints:
* adding a tail
v=p
to the URL of the list will present it very nicely.
In this example http://www.diigo.com/list/grahamperrin/memorial-1?v=p you see how sections break things up nicely.
I don't know whether the v=p trick is official, it's something that I stumbled across weeks or months ago …
