    Firefox needs to restart in order to finish an extension installation. You can try firefox 3 which has a session manager that can restore all opened tabs after restarting.

    It was IE. But that wasn't my point.
    My point is the user is not asked if they want to restart the browser, like any other toolbar install does.
    I had several tabs open, which were all closed and not reopened.
    Very annoying.
