    @ Diigo

Is there a limit to the number of entries that can be made in a group tag dictionary?

    Considerations

    1. http://groups.diigo.com/Diigo_HQ/forum/topic/some-multiple-word-tags-can-not-be-distinguished-unless-they-are-unnecessarily-added-then-subtracted-from-the-bookmark-dialogue-8510 reminds me that abbreviation or contraction can lead to problems.

    2. the example below makes me wonder how large a dialogue might grow when a dictionary is large.

there are two type of group tag dict data source:
    1. Use existing group tags
    2. Use a pre-defined group tag dictionary

if choose the first type, toolbar will load the top 10 tags from existing group tags. if the second choice, toolbar will load all the pre-defined group tag dict.

Thanks for the info re: representation to the end user. That's useful.

Now, the group management aspect. Is there a limit to the number of tags that can be within a dictionary?

    > if the second choice, toolbar will load all the pre-defined group tag dict.

As the entire dictionary is presented in the bookmark dialogue, I guess that there must be a limit. To avoid ridiculously huge dialogues.

(A bug here may be that group managers are not forewarned of the limit.)

I wonder why my http://groups.diigo.com/tag_mana/group_tag_dict?group_name=sandpit is broken:

    a) the uppermost tag is broken, its tail is missing
    and
    b) tags that are added seem to be lost when the page is reloaded

If there's a limit, that might partially explain bug (b).

Shall I file separate bugs for each symptom?
