Although it may be a nice feature, ftp bookmarking is pretty rare. It'd take some time for us to carefully consider security issues and how your ftp documents are saved / processed in our database. Given that we have a lot of high urgency priorities, this won't be considered any time soon.
Thanks for the feedback, I can understand that if the ftp URL is directly to an executable there might be a security implication.
However I have a lot of ftp sites that I have bookmarked, so not that rare.
FYI - Blinklist, ma.gnolia and del.ico.us all support bookmarking of ftp URLs which of course are valid URLs.
Thanks

Any news about ftp:// prefix support? There are lots of academic sites that only use ftp for their articles. And I couldn't bookmark them here in diigo. :-(
I've just run across this problem. The worst thing is that neither your website or the toolbar says that it won't allow you to bookmark FTP sites, it just says that the bookmarking has failed leading you to believe that if you just try again later it will work. Either support it, or add more useful error messages and a mention of this in your documentation.
It appears that diigo does not support the ftp:// prefix indicating an invalid URL
Please could support for this be implemented?
Thanks
