If I wish to specially share a bookmark with someone, from my bookmarks, how do I do so?
I tried the Share menu, but that is limited to:
[√] All Friends Or Friends in a Contact List
- no opportunity to name an individual.
I sought 'specially' in http://help.diigo.com/ and found a few pages but none of them were relevant (and the the matched pages don't actually contain the word 'specially').
Choose "Send to..." under the Share pull down. It allows you to send it to a specific friend, by choosing "Some of my friends".
Frankly I have some design issues with the Share menu, as the "Send to..." option and the "Share with friends" option is incredibly redundant. Your confusion only reaffirms my believe that these two functions should be merged together.
Moreover, the sharing with a Group is isolated from the other forms of sharing, namely with specific friends, all friends or a specific contact list. I feel sharing bookmarks with a group is a similar action to the others. The only thing different is the audience. It would make more logical sense to organize this function of sharing a set of bookmarks into a single intuitive location.
> organize this function of sharing … into a single intuitive location.
+1 to organising, but some actions that are described (by Diigo) as 'sharing' fall well beyond my use of the word 'share'.
It will be maybe a couple of months before I revisit that.
(My most recent shift http://groups.diigo.com/Diigo_HQ/forum/topic/9587 resulted from an apparently small change made by Diigo a few weeks ago. It took me that long to fully appreciate how a single small change, well-placed, can have far-reaching and very positive effect on workflow. So, I'm in no rush to form a fixed opinion of what is and is not sharing.)
I appreciate your reservations; I share them as well. Any changes to software at this level has unintended and unknown consequences, which requires more thought than a quick observation here. Sincerely, Scott
Dashboard link 'Bookmarks specially shared with me' refers to
http://www.diigo.com/friends/collection/shared which is empty, that's fine.

Thanks Scott
I spotted that option but refrained from experimentation,
let's send something to each other then review
http://www.diigo.com/friends/collection/shared to see whether it's populated.

http://www.diigo.com/friends/collection/shared becomes populated.
Mine remains empty.
Can anyone recall how this feature is used?
TIA
