Does anyone else find the excessive advertising on Diigo annoying. It's in my Dashboard now and nearly fills my sidebar. Everywhere I go on the site, I'm bombarded. I understand the necessity of displaying ads, but please make some tasteful decisions about quantity and location. I was going to introduce my students to Diigo, but I think I'll look for less commercialized alternatives.
sorry that there do seem to be a little too many ads now. Please bear with us as we are experimenting with monetization models. The ads should be reduced over time, and yes, there will be a pro account option.
Is this happening anytime soon? I'd like to be able to use Diigo in a public school setting but can't with the ads. I'd be willing to pay for a pro version.

Me too! I'm using Diigo in an academic setting, and the ads really don't fit in with that. I'm looking forward to the speedy introduction of pro accounts.
I never knew that there were even ads?! Please people, don't start agitating for a paid version sans ads, just get ADBLOCK and FLASHBLOCK (oh yeah, and use firefox...)and rest easy.

I usually block 'em all (shh! don't tell Our Sponsors!) but when I ease the blocking, this one keeps cropping up, amuses me:
Hmmph. Just LOOK at the STATE of that typeface! Did someone say "mid 1990s bitmaps please"?
4/10. Could do better. Personally, I wouldn't trust 'em to Triple My Traffic. YMMV :)
Peace,

I created a separate topic,
Benefits of paid subscription to Diigo
That's missing the point at http://groups.diigo.com/group/Diigo_HQ/content/1167230#2
I want the members of the public (most of whom are probably not users of Diigo) who receive Diigo Meta links (or annotated links) to see:
* the annotated content, pure and simple; not confused by advertising.
