    In framing such alternative models, however, I find myself wrestling with the unpleasant truth that the primary barriers to altering curricular, pedagogical, and assessment practices towards any transformative vision of education are not conceptual, technical or economic, but instead psychological, political, and cultural. The largest challenges in moving beyond historic models of schooling are people's emotions and their typically unconscious beliefs, assumptions, and values. To be achieved, a transformative model must generate professional commitment, political will, and cultural enthusiasm - not an easy task.

  • il faut savoir pourquoi vous faites ce que vous faites, pour entraîner les autres dans votre élan -que ce soit pour inciter les collègues à utiliser les médias sociaux en classe, ou amener les élèves à s’intéresser à vos cours.
  • Si, en tant qu’enseignante, je suis convaincue que l’éducation a pour mission de préparer chaque enfant (quelle que soit son appartenance socio-économique) à trouver sa place dans la société, et que cette société est train de se transformer radicalement sous l’emprise des médias sociaux (qui sont présentement inégalement utilisés selon l’appartenance socio-économique), alors je ne peux qu’intégrer la maîtrise des médias sociaux à mes méthodes d’enseignement. Que mon institution me le préconise ou non.

  • S’en tenir au « quoi », est une relique d’un passé industriel désuet. Lorsqu’il s’agit d’éduquer des êtres humains, le « pourquoi » devrait être le point de départ de tout programme éducatif –et faire l’objet d’un régulier réajustement consensuel.
