This is something that for some reason really annoys me, and I find this video the perfect example. I wanted to write more but the site limited me to 250 characters. I would have used youtube but the site wouldn't let you commit because of maintenance.
My full comment on the myspace video would have been:
This video is really sad. It's depressing that people could treat an animal like that. I've watched a few of these animal cruelty videos and it just breaks my heart. Being a dog owner and lover, I couldn't help but to look at my dog and cry. Knowing that someone could hurt something like that who just wants to love you and be loved. Watching this it's hard not to help and donate money so these animals could get the help they need.
The website was undergoing construction and would not let me post my comment. I will post asap. Here is my post:
As we become wrapped up in the proceedings of our own lives, we sometimes forget that there are other important issues taking place in our world. Deforestation occurs across the globe, and is changing the planet we call home for the worse. In many cases, the majority of the timber that is removed from the rainforest is burned. The burning of the vegetation releases carbon dioxide and contributes to global warming. The rainforest also serves as a home to many of the planets animal species. By destroying their homes, we are also destroying any chance of their survival. Because much of the land cleared by deforestation is used for ranching, the soil is quickly depleted of nutrition and more land must be used for cultivation. If we don't take the necessary precautions needed to save these important habitats, this continuous cycle may extinguish one of our world's most stunning treasures.
Okay, so I really wanted to comment on something about how people should get out there and vote since it seems like such a perfect time for it, but of course YouTube is down and won't let me make a username to be able to comment it. I'm just going to write my comment on here and post it on YouTube when it comes back up (I don't want my assignment to be late!) I can't find the video I wanted to post about anywhere else.
I really liked watching this video. I love Rise Against! as a band and I think that this was the perfect song to put in a rock the vote commercial. It was the first time I had seen this commercial, and I absolutely loved it! I think it really gets the point out there, especially for young people, to get out there and vote this year. It's such a critical time in our lives, and although many people think that their one vote won't count for anything, it really does! The song in the video really urges people to vote with the lyrics "stop, take some time to think, figure out what's important to you," because that's really what it's all about-voicing your opinion on issues that are important to you. I really liked how the video, unlike some of them that simply have a famous person speaking about how important it is to vote, addressed some of the important issues in this election like gay marriage, war, health care, and abortion rights. I think the only thing that could have made it better was if it also addressed environmental issues and the very important economic crisis. I also thought it was great that the video showed young people, who are the least likely to vote. It really encourages younger people to get out there and vote!
This video is about Human trafficking. My User name Jperezri
Human Trafficking is a huge problem all over the world. People don't even realize it. Also our generation is not educated in Human Trafficking at all. There has been many cases were the young childern are taken from their home forcefully or their parents sell them or they are tricked. What do I mean when I say tricked? A great example is the life movie Human Trafficking it shows how a young girl thaought she was going on a study abroad program to the states and ended up in a basement with her identity taken away and no way out. People need to be educated in this issue, so stuff like this can be prevented.
Update: I just posted my comment onto YouTube now that it let me sign up. I did have to shorten what I originally wrote because of the character limit. Here is the link again:
Oh, and I apologize for putting the name of the band wrong on here in my first post, just ignore that! I was in a huge hurry to post it since I was waiting to see if YouTube would let me sign on at the last minute and had to post my response on here before 11:59! :)
