"Today I visited the new Waverly Shell Rock Middle School, in Waverly, Iowa. Their school was devastated by flooding back in 2008. With the help from FEMA, state, and local resources, the school reopened in the fall of 2011 as a 5th grade thru 8th grade middle school featuring a 1:1 ipad rollout to all 600 students."

"We've heard of secondary schools and universities swapping out books for iPads before, but now thanks to a pilot program in four middle schools in Las Vegas, we're beginning to see just how helpful iPads can be in an educational setting."

"New York City science teacher and iOS developer, Frederick Feraco Jr., has 9 titles in the app store to help students prep for their regents and final exams. These apps are all part of his “Buddy” apps consist of lessons, videos, interactive quizzes, daily news feeds and flash cards. They are broken into topics: chemistry, biology, physics, earth science, environmental science, global history, US history, integrated algebra, geometry geography,anatomy and physiology, astronomy, middle school life science, physical science and health education."

"Our first project in our Multimedia Technology class was to use the iPad in a variety of ways to take and edit self portraits. After learning some iPad photography basics, the students used Fotolr, BeFunky, Pixlromatic, and other apps (listed here) to add effects onto their photos. "

As for the students, the iPads "aren't really something 'new' now, they're just part of (students') daily activities, which is what we wanted this new technology to be."
